Dreaming of falling asleep

Recently I’ve been bugged when falling asleep in the mornings by not being able to fall asleep for a long time. My problem with this is, when I eventualy do fall asleep my brain seems content on making me dream of lying in bed not being able to fall asleep rather than the normal WBTB goodness. The hard part about this is that any reality check I do while I’m actually falling asleep involves opening my eyes, moving around a bit a concentrating, which realy wakes me up and makes it harder to go back to sleep.
So, is there any reality check out there that can be done on the verge of sleep without disturbing it too much?

Could you try floating off your bed or making something appear?
