There’s a theory; I’m not saying how much I believe in it; but there’s a theory that says you die every night, and each time you wake up, a new soul has taken over your body.
You die every night, when you go to sleep. In the morning, someone else lives in your body, and has your brain, which contains all your memories.
If this theory holds, then you’re supposed to try and ruin your life as much as possible, to piss off the person coming after you q=
I think this is a bit extreme. I have read in places about this kind of stuff. Mainly that other souls or spirits which are still on earth trying to fulfill their desires through human bodies. Thus trying to take control of people if they r weak willed. This is also a bit out there but could be true.
I don’t believe that we die every night because we retain info from one day to the next. Not just physical info but spiritual. This might mean that our soul has existed for more than one human life but unlikely that our physical body is continually being visited by different souls, spirits or whatever u want to call this entity.
I think this is a bit of a useless argument. If it is possible to die and be a different person when you wake up, would we know? A bit like the “how do you know you aren’t dreaming right now?” question. I don’t think the terms “death”, “life”, and “soul” can be defined well enough to say anything worthwhile.
i can’t believe that simply because i believe our consciouness lives in your soul - therefore if it was to go elsewhere i would be there too, leaving my body here.
i agree with kmcdonald, who wrote exactely what i’m thinking. and comma, what do yuo think, if i dont go to sleep at all tonight, will i still have the same ‘soul’ in my body? but that’s not fair, isnt it. then some ‘soul’ can live in me longer than other…
