Eyelids Getting Stuck

Hey guys this is my first post, i’ve been teaching myself how to LD for about 14 years, i’m 22. At first i was amazed that i could wake myself up during dreams, i thought i was special  . Then i searched on the net, about a year ago, for some simular experiences and i was amazed that it was called lucid dreaming and you could train yourself to do it and i thought it was only me, what a muppet i’am.

But let me get to the point, during my dreams i can LD at will and make things appear and disappear at will but sometimes when i close my eyes they get stuck like glue, i can see a little but its pritty annoying.

Can anyone help.

Cheers

Dude

 Welcome to the forum!
I’m just wondering, have you tried not to close your eyes?
I’m new to lucid dreaming, but it seems to me that if you know that you are dreaming you shouldn’t even need to blink?

Well, i close my eyes to change things in my surroundings and then when i open them again there stuck. closeing my eyes help me have fun.

ok. how about trying an other method to change the surroundings? like diving through a hole in the ground or try to consentrate to “tune” the surroundings like in the movie Dark City?

 ooooh!! diving in a hole in the ground, that sounds pritty cool i’ll give that a go.

mine don’t actually get stuck but sometimes I get overaware of them in the dream and feel like I’ll wake up if I open my eyes. Once I forget about them it’s ok.

Welcome dude

I dont know what to tell you about your eye lids being stuck, but I’ve heard of a few other methods to change your dream scene. Ones that come to mind are opening a door and walking through it into new surroundings, or spinning around real fast. I dont know if you knew this, but spinning around will recover a dream if you see that its starting to fade. Most often when I spin around I find myself back in my dream bed, an FA… half the time I forget that I’m lucid, so just try and keep consciousness. Sometimes you can find yourself in a completely different place. I’ve never tried closing my eyes to change a scene, but I think I’ll try it next time, sounds good. I’ll let you know if I have the same problem with the eyelids. Good luck.

Spinning is my favorite for both staying in LD and for changing the scene. I read the scientific reason for it somewhere is I can locate it I’ll post it up.

My eyelids have got stuck in a dream. You need lots of feedback from your dream to stay in the dream (that’s what all dream-prolonging methods do - stimulate your sense). When you close your eyelids, too little dream sensation is being created. Perhaps you can try rubbing your hands (heat) or shouting, singing etc.

Hope that’ll work!

Thanks all!!

you have been all a great help

Surely this is only a placebo effect, it can be undone with thought.

Do LD come easily to you?

I dunno about the whole stuck eyelid thing, but it reminds me of an LD I had where immediatly after realizing I was dreaming, my left eye ceased functioning in the dream. I’m not sure if I was just seeing black or if I actually managed to open one eye during REM and the other eye remained in the dream  . Who knows…? Kinda freaked me out and confused me so the dream didn’t last any longer than a minute or two.
