Eyes open

I wonder if someone tried that:

I a LD, I was with a cousin a he knew that I was dreaming. And he ask me: “Are you able to open your eyes in reality and rest here?” Hmmmmmmm…

I tried and I saw the lamp on the ceiling apprearing like fog and I feel the dream fade so I close my eyes. I tried several times and finally I succeed! And I had the proof because when I woke up, my eyes where already open!

hahaha, that’s awesome!

I’ve accidentally opened my eyes during SP a few times and I always see a distoretd view of my room. I see a lamp or shelves but I actually see them as something completely different…

Were you dreaming or not?

He was probably in the intense stage of hypnagogia (leading of to dreams), or he woke up from a dream, still being in it partially.

Once I opened my eyes while I was in hypnagogia (still wasn’t in SP), and saw a huge portal in my room (looked like midieval gates), but later I discovered that its just the thing where you hang wet laundrary on (it was changed in my mind probably because I expected a hallucination).

I did that one time when I had nightmares as a kid. I had the ability to blink myself awake whenever I didn’t like what was happening in a dream, so one night I had a scary dream, and started to blink.

I was waking up, but I was between the dream and my room. I said to the DC who was standing there, “Look what I can do!” Then I opened my eyes and woke up fully.

I remember that I was feeling my body standing up (in dream) AND layed down (in my bed) at the same time. It was really weird! Like the “two bodies” of mine where merged by the head. If I would’ve been able to see my body layed down, I would’ve been able to see nothing!!!

@Rhett, I wasn’t dreaming, only in SP with no HI. Although what Beat Doctor said might have happened a few times too.

@Blitzgrutel, I’ve felt my hands on my bed and my dream hands rubbing together at the same time once. It sure is a unique experience!

I did it by accident this morning. I was leaving my physical body, and I had thought just before that I didn’t want to open my real eyes. My vision was really distorted as I stood up. Parts of it were just black, it was all crooked and weird. It didn’t match the position of my head. I figured I would wait it out, and I took a few nice breaths to focus and chill. But I woke up, and my vision kind of turned around as I oriented myself to my physical body and I saw that the wall was actually the ceiling, and it all made sense. It was the same image, (if maybe another color,) interpreted in a different way.

It is an interesting idea to do it on purpose. If I could just guarantee my return to the dream. Do it over and over perhaps. If I could do it consistently, I’d like to prepare my room with things that can be interpreted in interesting ways. Perhaps put a picture in the ceiling. I noticed once that the LED headlamp I have on the table next to my bed, kind of looked like a toad, in the way it was presented. If I saw that image in that mindstate, I wonder what it might appear to be.
