Failed reality checks?

Lately my dreams aren’t abstract as much as they seem IDENTICAL to my waking life. The detail is incredible, I can read small text, turn on/off lights, feel textures, taste foods, etc…

While this is cool, its becoming frustrating. My dreams are SO similiar to my waking life, I don’t seem to have the ability to know I am dreaming.

For example, last night I had a dream where a very pretty girl was telling me that she was thinking about me all the time. I said to her, “blah, this is too good to be true. I’m dreaming. Watch.” And I pinched myself. To my surprise, I felt pain! I actually felt the pinch on my arm. So I said, “Cool, this is real as it gets.” Suddenly my alarm goes off and I leap out of my dream and into my waking life. The transition was so sudden that when I hit the alarm I wanted to scream @ the frustration. Has this happened to anybody?

Lately, I’ve been progressing a great deal spiritually and I am getting familiar with the lifestyle of Lucid Living and it seems my dreams now are opposing reality less and less but actually becoming more like my waking life. Not sure if I am progressing in Lucid Dreaming or not when even my reality checks arne’t working!

Meh, my RC’s fail me plenty of times. Which is why I have so many (I just go through 'em all, in the hope that at least one of 'em will work ).

Pinching yourself isn’t really a very good RC anyway. Most people find they can feel pain in dreams (after all, why shouldn’t you be able too?).

Whoever told the world you don’t feel anything in dreams when you pinch yourself: …must have hated lucid dreaming =(…

(Now that I think about it; that was my RC in my youth, and probably f***** up alot of my lucids-to-be T_T)

My RCs fail sometimes, OR (which is even worse) they do work, but when I try to do something wierd (like flying or walking trough walls) it doesn’t work and I think “Okay, it isn’t a dream after all”…

Whats worse is when you fail reality checks in real life. Don’t count your fingers when you’re carrying stuff in them. (Darn 11th finger.)

I just watch my hands, and try to count my fingers, but in most of my LDs my hands are like a mirage, they are somewhat transparent, so I don’t need to count my fingers.
Funny how last night, I was there in my bed and I was 80% sure I was dreaming, so I looked at my hands and they looked normal, but when I turned them to look my palm I saw my fingers shrinking, that made it.

I have also noticed recently that my NORMAL dreams are more lucid-like, and make more sense. I.e. i behave RL-like, chat RL-like, analyze what i see like IRL. This last thing (we often don’t analyze our environment and details what we see in normal dreams) is crucial, because it’s still not normal to think that “well, it’s looks like an abadoned house, but i wonder does someone still lives in there? Well, i see smoke, so someone is making fire in oven. Well, yea, he got some other houses in his garden. Those are so small, i wonder how he can fit himself into them?”, but then my analyzing stops, because i get involved in other stuff. But those are perfect moments NOT to forget your RC’s.

I usually do nose-RC, what is one of the best (even if you need to do it few more times to be sure). Very rarely i need to make other RC-s too, but anyway: one RC sometimes is NOT enough, unfortunately

that happened to me a few nights ago, my stupid digital watch decided to work afterall and I convinced myself i wasn’t dreaming.

:grrr:
