Fake dream signs because of fake memories

I dunno if I’m the only one that had this problem, but I’m guessing it’s not that common.

Anyway, I had two dreams that have been really bugging me. In the first one, I was looking for a dream sign. This was when I was just starting to try lucid dreaming. Since I didn’t remember (and I guess this is the key part) one, one guy stepped in front of me and told me that if I closed my eyes really hard and then opened them, and everything was the same, I was awake. Needless to say, I thought I was awake, and felt stupid when I finally woke up.

The second happened last weak. I was a space pirate (or something) chasing a band of criminals. I then decided to check my hands but then remembered (and again, I suppose this is the key part) seeing my hands and them being normal. I can’t say if I do remember them, but I do remember remembering them.

Anyone has had the same issues?

I’m sorry, but I don’t quite understand this part, would you mind explaining it a bit different?

If you mean that you do the RC’s and remeber nothinf will change, because you got used to nothing happening in real life. I suggest you try to really question reality when you do them in real life, don’t just do 1 check, do at least 2 different one’s and try to form a explanation of why it isn a dream (if you come to that conclusion…) This really helped me after I found out that my checks didn’t work in my dreams, after doing it like above, they did start to work, so don’t do them half-heartedly. Really believe there is a possibility you are dreaming…

I hope this helps :content:

What I meant with the second one is that I was about to do a reality check, but I stopped and didn’t do it because I remembered having already done it. The thing is, when I woke up, I realized I hadn’t done any reality check: it was part of my “dream memory” that I remembered doing it, in the same way I remembered being a space pirate chasing criminals.
