Hey guys, I know some people have asked stuff like this before, but I think mine is a bit different…
You know the “falling” feeling we get when we are conscious and start to dream? I get that a lot. And I’ve started to notice I’ve been getting that more frequently these days. The problem is that when I get it, it’s a half-second long, and it throws me back to RL. I don’t even get enough time to react, so I go pretty much on reflex. Plus, I’m not even with my mind set on LDing when I get the feeling!
Picture this:
“Hmm, I’m going to sleep”
eyes closed
Moments later, I’m almost sleeping
WHAM! FALLING DOWN FEELING!
My body jerks up
“What the… o_o”
I know that this feeling can be pretty useful… How can I fix this up and control it? Please help!
This occurs when you enter a dream, and then realize it. Pretty much like when you realize you’re having a LD and you wake up. You’re body realizes that you’re falling asleep and so do you. Simply try to think of something nice and comfortable when you’re going to sleep.
That’s the thing, I don’t even have time to think about it.
Imagine you’re walking in a room and a trap door opens below your feet, throwing you into a hole. That’s the feeling You don’t even have time to think about it. Plus, it’s not like I don’t want to have the feeling, I’d like to use it to become lucid, like some people do.
I got this a few times when I first tried WILD. I must have been on the line to falling asleep cause suddenly my body just twitched and I was fully awake. It wasn’t quite the falling feeling (Which I have also had) but similiar.
I don’t know how to help you unfortunetly.
