Favorite Bands

I agree. Their music grows, also. The first time I heard them, I thought they were just screaming and making weird noises. But I gave them one more listen in earphones, now I love them… :content:

Yea. I don’t remember if I liked them the first time I heard them, but I didn’t think of them as anything worth my time. Then I later ended up downloading them again when I heard the name again, just to see if I remember their music. And I heard it and ended up liking them a lot.

First time I heard them, I was watching the Televators video. I thought it was awesome and wanted to hear more.

One pretty new “discovery” that doesn’t really fit with the rest of the music I listen to is the female singer “ani difranco”. Anyone knows her?
Especially the song “back back back” I recommend

No problem. One of the reasons I made this thread was to learn of bands I have never known before. And maybe do the same for some other people. For those people that were mentioning Aphex Twins and The Crystal Meathod, I recommend Lords of Acid if you havn’t already heard of them and checked them out. I bet you would really like them if you heard them Nick Tonic.

I know her. I think she’s okay, her way of singing is quite odd though… Shy is a very good song.

Thats all I can remember at the moment, I think im pretty open to all music, but my taste just happens to fall mainly into Heavy Metal.

Whispa, you seem to be the person my tastes overlap with most here

Most of what I like could be called ‘fretful pop’. Mostly British too. Roughly in order of good-ness:

Aqualung, James, Dodgy, The 45s/RUTH (same band, different names), Garbage, Coldplay, Air, Tori Amos, Ian Brown…

Some more, but those are most of the big ones.

Current favorites -

The Cure
Bjork
Mike Patton (faith no more, mr. bungle, tomahawk, fantomas)
Iggy and The Stooges
Rancid
The FIXX
New Order
The Four Tops
Roy Orbison
The Platters
The Beatles

Former favorites that I do still like -

Nine Inch Nails
Tool/APC
U2
VNV Nation
Billy Idol

Nice avatar robotFrank. I forgot all about that show a long time ago. I wonder if MTV2 or something will ever show reruns of it. Or if they will ever bring it out on DVD. The other day while looking at DVD’s on the internet, I thought it was be awsome if MTV decided to release Liquid Television onto DVD. I used to like that show a lot.

Ooh yeah, I bought an album by them from amazon and it arrived today. Disintegration. Have been listening to it very much, it will probably be permanently amongst my favourites.
