Sometimes I dream that I am very messed up feeling, the sensation is similar to being so drunk you can hardly remain conscious, speak or move. I will stumble around in the dream, struggling to stay “awake” struggling not to fall over and so on and so forth. Oftentimes when I have these dreams I am afraid someone will realize I am “messed up” and I’ll be in trouble for it.
I have these dreams pretty often. They are very odd. The sensation is overwhelming.
I was wondering if anyone had any theories as to what this is, or does anyone else experience similar dreams?
is this in normal dreams or lucid dreams?
I sometimes find my limbs don’t work properly when a dream is nearing it’s natural end as if my brain is aware of the RL SP that my body is experiencing while I’m dreaming…
In a lucid dream it could be just lack of control that you can train and improve on it.
Do you or did you drink a lot, particularly in your teens? It could simply that you are dreaming of being intoxicated like you may have been in the past, hence the feeling of getting in trouble for it.
I’ve only had this type of thing happen in a specific dream and it’s when I was around a specific person in a dream. I later came to realise that this person was one of my SGs rather than a DC/DG.
I’ve had similar dreams and I wake up sometimes distressed or feel “consciously” distressed in my dreams because of my inability to control the feelings.
I can’t say that I remember having any alcoholic drinks or anything else that would affect the dream itself. I’m not much of a drinker so I can vouch that it doesn’t really have anything to do with the dream itself.
This kind of “drunken” feeling mostly affects my speech during these types of dreams.
i have had quite a lot of dreams how i find it hard to move, sometimes all i can do is crawl, and standing up is extremely difficult. and if i manage to run at a decent pace, its like i lose control of momentum, and im not able to stop, and i’ll be crashing into things, it sucks.
MadeDCMA it could be that your SC is trying to tell you something. Is there anything in your life that is holding you back? Do you feel like you should be doing more? Does it seem like everything you try to do is going wrong? Your SC can be very persistent in dreams.
On the other hand, you might just have gotten into a rut where you think that this will happen in your dreams so it does.
If the frist answer fits, then you might want to take a good look at yourself and what you are doing in your life.
If the second answer fits, then you just need to lighten up on your dreams. Take it easy, do what you can, and let the dream flow.
If nether of the above fits, then you need to do something else. Sorry, I don’t have any other ideas.

hey don20853 i think you might be right about my SC playing a part in this situations, yeah seeing how the dreams i always felt out of control. one particular dream i would have like this is that one of my friends would be off in the distance, and i would try to run after him/her but they would start to run off. then as i tried to chase and catch up, i would start to lose control of my movements and either keep going further and further the wrong way, or stop being able to move at all. i should probably try and approach dreaming (and life) in a more positive fashion. cheers for the advice
