First experiences and questions

I just recently got interested in lucid dreaming. Read Laberge “LD” and am finishing Waggoner “LD: Gateway to inner self” now. Have beed trying mostly intention before going to bed and counting down (one, I am dreaming; two, I am dreaming…) as I am falling asleep.

In the ~ 2 months that I have been reading and trying, I’ve had 3 lucid dreams. In one of them I just realized it’s a dream and got so excited that I woke up immediately.

In the other two I am having the same problem for “hitting” a “black wall”. I become lucid and usually start gliding right away. In the last one, i also managed to fly where I directed my attention, fly through a wall. But very shortly after a little bit of flying I hit a “black wall”, meaning I can’t see (dark) or move. I try to come out of this (e.g. tried spinning by Laberge), but fail and loose lucidity (usually just go back to sleep).

Any ideas how to get out of this “black hole”?

I also haven’t seen any dream characters so far, but my couple of LDs have been very short. I mostly fly.

After you get lucid, try to calm down and concentrate a bit to make the dream clearer. I think the excitement when you become lucid gets you into the black hole and wakes you up.

Do you have good visualization skills and/or think in pictures? If so, it may be required for you to generate the scape you wish to be in, since it’s a conscious process.

Thank you, guys, I think you are both right. I do get too excited, so I will work on that and visualisation. Unfortunately, have not had lucidity or a while now:( Too tired when I go to sleep…

I think you should try teleporting
when youre stuck in your wall, just close your eyes and visualize where you wanna be, then when you open your eyes you should be there. Always works for me
