Hello all I am new to Lucid dreaming and the forum itself! Ill jump right into it…
So for the past 3 days I developed a minor interest in Lucid dreaming. For some time now I have suffered from horrible sleep paralysis episodes, and stumbled upon the WILD technique while looking up information about sleep paralysis. I figured I’d try it out, see if I could have a lucid dream. The first night I tried, to no avail. I didn’t even remember having a dream by the time I woke up.
The next night, I spent at a friends house. I went to bed not even thinking about lucid dreaming. Had a night of constant waking up and going back to sleep (This is normal for me when sleeping in different places).
The dream started with me getting off of a bus, and my friends (We’ll call them Tim and Jack) picked me up in a car. Tim had a giant birthday cake which he then slammed into Jacks face. For some reason I thought at this point It might be a dream but who knows. I then thought “If this in a dream, that cake will regenerate into a new cake in Tim’s hand” sure enough it did. I still wasn’t convinced. Tim then began pouring cheerios onto Jack (Poor jack right?) and I noticed that there seemed to be an infinite stream of cereal coming out of the bowl and at that moment I proclaimed “I am dreaming!”
Don’t know how it happened, but I appeared in the master bedroom of the house I grew up in. I figured (Like most people apparently) that I should try flying. I jumped, and sort of glided to the ceiling corner, and then bounced to each corner in a circle around the room. I was also arguing with the indian doctor from the TV show Heroes, as he’s telling me I can’t stay in the dream world forever.
Over the course of this dream I was fully aware I was dreaming. But, I kept felling like the dream was fading, I never really got a clear vivid dream. It all seemed hazy, and had to concentrate to stay in the dream. I tried spinning like I read somewhere, and I’m not sure if that worked or not. Eventually the darkness took over, and I woke up, smiling, and trying to convince myself the world I woke up to was real.
Not knowing much about lucid dreaming, I was wondering if that hazy, foggy feeling was normal. It felt like the entire time I was just grasping at the dream, as it kept slipping away. Is there anything I could do to solidify the dream world?
Thanks!
