I’m new to this forum and LDing but I just had a weird LD experience last night. I woke up after about 4 hrs of sleep to take care of my girlfriend who was sick and then went back on my couch to pass out. I stared at my bike which is suspended from the ceiling in my room while I passed out. At some point, I woke up in that same view but had a felling something was different so I did an RC (plug my nose and breathe) and I was dreaming!
The problem is, after calming myself down, I was unable to look anywhere else in the room and could only stare towards my bike. I could turn my head but my eyes just stayed on that bike. I even got up and went over to my girlfriend who was asleep just by feeling objects with my hands, but I couldn’t look away or change the scenery.
Is this a good RC. Has this happened to anyone else and is there a way to gain control over that? Also, I felt like I was leaving my body because everything else was very real, but I can’t be sure because I couldn’t turn to look at it.
Dream attention can be fascinated by objects. I remember a LD when I stared at a strange golden stone in a wall and just examine it during 2 minutes. Anyway, I think it’s quite rare and this problem won’t necessarily happen in your next dreams.
I had a somewhat similar experience when I took a nap during the day and I found myself lying on the floor of my home (I currently live in a dorm). I couldn’t move from my position and all I could do was stare at the ground. I was lucid but I couldn’t move or anything. The room started spinning around me and when I really tried hard to move I actually moved IRL and woke up.
That happens to me sometimes, or well, something similar to that, anyway. I once dreamt that I was on a hi-speed train in Finland, a “pendolino”. Sometimes I was on the roof, sometimes inside the train, and while I was inside I suddenly realized how surreal everything seemed, which lead me to realize that I was, in fact, dreaming. However, when I tried to control my dream and be off the train, I simply couldn’t, though I was constant of the fact that none of what happened in the dream was real. After a while, I got tired of trying and strayed back into ‘unconsciousness’.
I’ve had a ND in which I couldn’t remove my gaze at a certain wall in a building I’ve never been inside of IRL. There was nothing interesting about it either, just a plain white wall with a square window and a phone mounted on it. (On the window, not the wall… )
I’m not sure why this happens, I’ve tried researching similar happenings but could find nothing.
Hi guys!
I’m new here, so for my first post I wish you all the LD-s you can get.
I had my first LD some two weeks ago, after only three weeks of trying. It was trought WBTB, but only I woke up spontaniously early in the morning, eat somathing, and get back to bed. The dream was about me driving my car, when I suddenly recognise that it was not possible, because the car was involved in car accident few days before, and it was at repair at that time. I tryed to stay focused, and in control, but all that happened was me flying inside the car, and slowly loosing my lucidity, and than woke up. Deam!
Hopefully, next time it will be better!
