Last night i tried to do the WILD method, ive not been trying to LD for long but i thought this method sounded good so i tried it.
Anyway i was lying in bed for at least an hour, i couldnt check the clock because i was trying to stay still and relaxed.
I managed to get sleep paralysis, i think, it felt like there was something very heavy on my chest, and i couldnt feel my arms or legs. I didnt try to move anything because i thought that might ruin my attempt.
It also felt like my body was vibrating and i could hear a buzzing sound in my ears. I used counting as my focus and ended up counting past 600 (although i was getting confused and i started counting in odd increments), but unfortunately i must have lost consciousness because i woke up and i couldnt remember how i got to sleep.
So how close was i to success with this method? Any advice for a more successful attempt? When i try this next i think im going to use it with WBTB, ive heard its more effective.
I saw a flash of lights, similar to what you get when you push your fingers against your eye with your eyes closed. That happened about the time i started feeling the vibrations but it faded and the other things stayed.
It was mainly sound and tactile sensations.
Thats just your phosphenes fucking around, but the sounds etc were definitly Hypnagogic Sounds. Also, you had the SP/Old Hag “Syndrome” but since you obviously havn’t read about or don’t believe in Old Hag, you didn’t see anything. You were close.
You’re doing great Many WILDers don’t get as far as you got. I found out that the moment the count starts getting confused is the one you have to focus the most. Last time, when I was getting near 100 (I always count to 100/200 and start over if necessary), things were getting confused, but I focused and when I got to 100, I opened my eyes and was LDing .
Okay, this might seem like a weird question heh, but how exactly do you focus? I can get to the point when I get weird feelings, sounds and images, and I can also get the the point when my counting gets really messed up, and I know that if I can just hang on to consciousness for a liiiittle while longer I’m gonna be in an LD, but I can never help it. When my counting gets messed up I start thinking MILD-like things, that the next scenario I see is going to be a dream and that I have to quickly realize that I’m in a dream… maybe I’m thinking all the wrong thoughts…? Should I force myself to count accurately instead? Or just focus on the images? What are you thinking/focusing on right before you enter the dream? I just can’t get the whole WILD thing…
The secret when the count starts getting scrambled (I’m not a pro It’s just that it worked twice with me) is to focus on the numbers themselves. Try to imagine them. I mean, not just the “word” “One, two, three”. Try to think about the way they look. So you’d still be thinking “Seventy-four, seventy-five” and thinking about 74, 75. I didn’t even need to focus on HI at this point.
Do you remember any dreams of that day?
Maybe you have succeded but you don’t remember because the memory that keeps dreams before recall aren’t very conscious, and you can loose them with ease.
Try training some recalls for some days, after remembering some, try again, maybe you achieve do it that time!
