Do you think the length of your sleep is connected to your dream recall.
I think I noticed something the last couple of days.
3 nights ago, I slept for 6 hours, had 2 lucid dreams which I remembered pretty good.
2 nights ago, I slept for 8 hours, I had one non lucid dream which I could remember some parts of and one lucid dream which I could remember only the beginning of.
Last night, I slept for like 9 and a half hours and all I remember is the first few seconds of, probably, my last dream.
Does anyone know something about this?
Does your sleep cycles continue to go to REM as long as you continue to sleep or does it stop when reached a certain point?
I think I might take this one to the lab… Cud be interesting…
Yes, it does. In fact, as you sleep longer your REM periods get progressively longer. At the beginning of the night they are usually about 5-10 minutes, however, by 7-9 hrs of sleep they are oftentimes as long as an hour.
Out of curiosity, how would your rank your tiredness on each of the three nights because your results surprise me. They are the opposite of my typical experiences with dream recall and, I believe, contary to what experts say about the correlation of sleep, dreams, and recall.
I dont really remember the first two nights but last night I was very very tired before going to bed and I meditated while lying on my back when suddenly I almost had an OBE by mistake, then it kinda turned into a WILD but at the end I forgot about the meditation, the OBE and the WILD and just dozed off to sleep.
once again…
Last night I slept for like 6 hours and when I woke up I remembered tons of dreams.
Actually, at first I didnt remember anything but two minutes later I suddenly remembered everything I had gone through, how it began until the end with a couple of nice holes in the middle. I could remember 2-3 dreams with considerable length to each of them, and they all kind of mixed together and had a connection between one and the other, I gained lucidity in the second one which started in what appeared to be Manhattan. I was also quite tired yesterday but not as much as two nights ago
