Alriiight, let me express some feelings I am having about now… I went to bed, as usual, at 8:00 and got up at 2:00. I woke myself up, listened to DeGiorgio’s lucid dreaming supraliminal and did some reading on lucid dreaming. I went back to bed, with my physical body sleep and my mental body WIDE AWAKE. I KNEW I WAS GOING TO HAVE A LUCID DREAM. I did mild, except I visualized what would happen in my next dream, not my past dream, while I was affirming myself to “do a reality check and become aware that I am dreaming”. It worked. I found myself with my eyes open in bed and glanced to my left at my dresser and saw my alarm clock reading a rediculous time that I knew it wasn’t. Then I glanced away and glanced back. The alarm clock had advanced four hours. I calmly, yet passionately got up from my bed and flew over to my bedroom door and back. I tried to create a person behind me, but it didn’t work. I tried again and engaged in what I didn’t know was a false awakening. I lied there for about 4-6 more minutes feeling extremely dissapointed and then woke up for reals, to see that I wasted a frickin 8 minute long lucid dream! …
Anyone have any ideas on how to eliminate this kind of experience that can ruin a lucid dream?
So… you got lucid… and then lost it again? Simple answer - once you become lucid, remind yourself that you’re dreaming. And even if you can’t do something (eg. make someone apear behind you) that doesn’t mean you’re not dreaming.
One question though - when you thought it wasn’t a dream, didn’t you think you take another RC to check?
No!! I said that I was lucid and then I had a FALSE AWAKENING meaning, I thought I woke up from it, but didn’t really. Basically if I would have done another reality check when I thought I woke up I would have had like 6 more minutes to do whatever I frickin’ wanted to.
I personally take a RC everytime I wake up. I’ve had loads of LD’s this way. It’s one of my personal favourite ways of becoming lucid. Simply because of I’m always amazed to find I’m dreaming. I then jump outta bed (doesn’t matter how noisy you are, cos your familly aren’t real).
What I find quite interessting is how sometimes my familly will be awake (maybe one or two of them in the hall way or downstairs) and other times they’re all asleep.
Recently though I seem to have stopped getting FA’s :/. Which is a shame… I wonder if there’s a way I can induce them…
Haha, tyte! Yeah, I usually scream, “I’m dreaming”! really loud just because I know I can get away with it .
Fun stuff!
You want a way to induce FA’s, get really, over excited in your lucid dream and there is a 50% chance that you’ll have one instead of actually waking up!
Another way is the Thirst Method in which you don’t drink ANY water past lunch time and when you do WBTB you go downstairs and put some salt on your tongue and then get a huge, heaping glass of ICE COLD water and take it back up to bed with you. Put it on your night stand or something and do NOT drink ANY of it.
If you find yourself waking up and drinking some of it, you are most likely dreaming .
I found this method on google at several different sites.
I want to have an FA, not die of dehydration . But yeah - that does sound like quite a good method, but I’m not going to do it (I will have loads of trouble getting to sleep).
As for getting exicted - that’d only really help if I were already lucid, so it’s kindda redundant (anyways there’s safer ways of getting to my bedroom ).
