ginkgo biloba, melatonin, b6

Hello everyone,

I didn’t see a spot for introductions so I’ll start with that:-) . My name is Sione and I am 19 years old. A few Weeks ago I got a book on obe’s(astral dynamics).i was reading the book but my interest also found its way to the internet. I found myself pulling up a lot of articles/videos/discussions about Lucid dreaming on my quest for more obe info.unfortunately (or maybe not:) I lost
interest in obe and wanted to learn more
about LD. Have I ever had an LD? Quite frankly I don’t know.so what are the driving factors in this couple hour a day obsession I’ve had for the past week/week and a half? Well first of all I believe lucidity will be easier to achieve than an obe for myself personally. Also because if I am going to sleep for a third of my life id like to be doing something in that time. And lastly so I can get on with this article, because as a child (maybe from age 8 to age 17) I found myself having many deja vu moments.sometimes the dream wouldn’t come true till the next day or the longest I believe was a few years.one thing remained true throughout these dreams that came true,i wouldn’t remember the dream til it came true.

Anywho on with the article.

I rarely remember my dreams anymore.i read up on some supplements that could possibly make achieving an LD slightly easier and also have better dream recall. two days ago I got vitamin b-6, melatonin, and ginkgo biloba.

Ginkgo-60 Mg
B6-100 Mg
Melatonin-3 Mg

the first night I took 2 melatonin,1b-6, and 2 ginkgo. I small edit took a hot shower before bed, and I believe I listened to a lucid dream induction with binurial. first night: no results (no recall)

Yesterday around 2pm my girlfriend was tired and I was really anxious to go to sleep (nap time!) just to keep practicing LD (and this weekend was my get rest and get over sickness weekend). So just before hopping in the shower I took 3 ginkgo,2 b6 And 1 melatonin. I also listened to a LD induction with binurial.yesterday I had also put up drapes that makes my room almost pitch black.Upon waking (maybe 830pm)i recalled what would seem to be 4 different dreams but that I believe to have been one long strange dream.i laid in bed for a couple minutes thinking to myself that because of the ginkgo I wouldn’t have to write in my DJ right away and began recalling different details of my dream.after that few minutes I grabbed my DJ and a cig.i ended up not writing in my DJ till I smoked half my cig and put it out.as I was smoking I began seeing flashes of dreams that I hadn’t recalled before then.these were dreams that I believe I’ve had within the past three years.i then began writing the details of my dream.after writing the details I wrote up a conclusion that will be better to understand straight from my DJ:

“the supplements worked quite well (although I wasn’t lucid at all).also today is only day 2 I’ve taken them.when I woke up I came out to the living room & smoked half a cig then started writing.as I was doing both, small flashes of various dreams dreams I’ve had began flowing into my head.even as I wrote that last sentence flashes of 2 past dreams popped into my head…”

Went to bed around 2 this morning after taking small edit1 melatonin, and 2 ginkgo.didn’t really get much sleep last night and don’t think I had any dreams due to the alcohol.

with all that said I believe the reason my dream seemed to be 4 different dreams but yet one is because of the melatonin extending my REM cycle. The ginkgo I def believe had to do with the "flashbacks"and superb dream recall. It is hard to tell the effects the b6 has had although the results I’m attributing to the ginkgo are probably in combination with the b6.

I’d also like to say you might not want to take as much ginkgo as I have (i think that is what is causing me to go to the restroom a little more frequently).

any feedback, comments, personal experiences, etc.greatly appreciated.

P.s. Apologies for horrible spelling and grammar (posted on my Android)

alcohol details have been removed since substances need to be safe and legal and we have many underage members

I don’t touch ginkgo biloba. I tried it one time for a couple of days and had terrible nose bleeds. You and I hit about the same amount of B6 so kudos on that. Guess we must have something going right. As for the melatonin, less is more. Think of a big clock in front of you representing your sleep cycle and the amount of melatonin you take pushes the hand around. Take too much and you’ll be wide awake because your body will think it’s the morning. Taking anything over 3mg is not only dangerous, it will not accomplish what you wish. Also consider that melatonin delays the onset of REM sleep. That is not necessarily a good thing. Now if part of a larger plan to WBS in the wee hours of the morning and cram a super long REM state at that time then it’s understandable and I’ve done this with great success. Personally, I find 1mg of melatonin more than sufficient and I would not use it more than a couple of times a week.

hi there, first of all congratz on the accomplished dream recall. i enjoy normal dreams just as much as lucid ones.
just to get to the subject, i wouldnt take the pills more than twice a week. i dont have anu experience with them, (tho i want to buy them) but i have read that taking then alot does actualy have side effect. u could better do your own esearch but if ou have no problems than dont mind it.
another thing you could try, is to take the pills after youve had 4 or 5 hours of sleep. alot of people recommend this, cause this is when youre rem cycles are longest. try to combine it with a WBTB. any keep posting! im interested to see if you actually have a jump start, because of those pills.
