Got lucid for first time!

Hi everybody…

I’m very happy to say that I had my first real LD last night! I was interested in lucid dreams for more than a year and I did some attempts and different techniques but I never got really lucid. The bad thing is that I’m not that serious and I don’t even have a DJ… but from time to time I keep reading about lucid dreams and I also do reality checks (the one with the breathing and the one with the counting fingers).
I also tried WILD a while ago and for two times I got into sleep paralysis and it was really scary… I got a lot of vibrations and strange noises and just gave up with this technique!
I also had a strange experience this summer… I was mod edit. and doing parties… I don’t know if this made any difference but one night I went to sleep in my hotel… suddenly I was in a dream but i didn’t realize it… I was lying in my bed and I felt really bad in the dream… I was hearing noises and was really scared! So I jumped out of my bad and went and went out of my room… suddenly I saw a lot of soldiers with weapons running after me… Everything was very lucid… I somehow knew that this is not reality but I couldn’t wake up or get control… I was running and found an AK47 and started to fire to the soldiers… and then I woke up! Maybe this was no LD but something like an Astral projection… don’t know.
I know it sounds really strange… but I’m sure you have also strange stories like mine!
So before I share my first LD experience, let me share another thing…
Two years ago I started listening to iDoser frequencies… they never worked but one night I was really tired and went sleeping and listening to some iDoser files… at this time I was not very familiar with lucid dreams but as far as I can remember - back then I got once again in sleep paralysis but it was not the same… I enjoyed it. I had the feeling that I was falling and also heard a strange voice but I liked it. I tried to wake up but it didn’t work so I kept enjoying it and suddenly it was over and I woke up…

So these were my experiences before my first real LD… maybe you can explain some things to me as I’m really new to LD…

Let’s tell you about my first LD last night… before I went to sleep I was watching a tv show about some guys that were showing a device that can make a photo and analysis of your Aura… it’s called Auracamera… They also spoke about Indigo children and some of them were one. After the show I got really interested in this things and was reading about 2 hours on the internet about Aura’s and indigo children… I was really skeptical about this but I tried to see my aura in front of the mirror (there are howtos on the internet how to do it… it’s really simple… you just need to watch yourself between the eyes for 60 seconds and then step back and you will see the circle of your aura)… so I did this and was really excited… I saw my Aura but it was somehow white the first time… the second time it was like light green or blue… I got really exited because I’m not of the people that believe in this sort of things!
So I went sleeping and I was dreaming some random stuff… suddenly I was in this tv show where they showed the aura camera and I asked them if they can do a photo of my aura… They said yes and I asked them how much money is it going to cost myself… they said like 5 bucks… and suddenly I realized that this is way too cheap and it can’t be reality! I was so excited so I almost woke up… everything became black and I could feel my body in my bed… I started to bring my thoughts and say to my dream to be more lucid and it worked for a while… so I did a fast real check with the breathing… I could breath with my nose closed  I also counted my fingers and I had 6 fingers  I was really excited and I said to my self to change the the scene! Suddenly I was in some sort of an university… it was pretty empty without people… so I walked around and saw two girls coming to me… I can’t remember what we talked about and I only remember the one girl… she was really beautiful and blonde hair and blue eyes… she was smiling to me and walking around me and watching me like I was from another planet! I tried to touch her but I can’t remember what happened after that…
I got 3-4 dreams and I was lucid and knowing that I’m dreaming but I was not changing the world around me… I only was acting to the world around me…

So this was pretty everything… I know I have a lot of things to learn and to improve but I’m really happy that I finally realized that i’m dreaming!

Now can you give me some tips and tricks? How can I improve and do you thing it will be easier to me now to realize that I’m dreaming in other dreams?

Thanks for reading and really sorry for my crappy english!

Congrats for your first LD (s)! ^^
You seem to do pretty fine on your own, the rest comes with practice and confidence
To induce more LD’s, remember what those were like when you go to bed, and trying thinking up some new ones where you do what you’d like! It helps in inducing as well as being very fun :content:

Many more LD’s to you!

Hey encrypt

I’m really genuinely Happy — for your experience. Many more will come. Before you know it you will be experiencing LD’s 3 or 4 times a week. And you will identify yourself as a Lucid Dreamer.

Great stuff.

Thank you!

Since my first experience I really had maybe 2 or 3 lucid dreams and a lot of normal vivid dreams. And all this without a DJ… Actually I’m a bit lazy and don’t know how to get myself into starting to do a DJ… but i’m sure it will improve my recall much more. Sometimes I can recall my dreams very good and when I’'m awake I really feel stupid how I couldn’t realize that it is a dream…
Any suggestions how to get motivated to do a DJ? Can I do it on my PC? Or will I forget my dream in the meantime I start my pc… (5 minutes after wake up)

encrypt, congrats on your LD’s. They are cool, i like the one with soldiers and AK47 . About DJ, I’ve read that many dreamers keep their DJ in PC.

I prefer to write down my dreams, so I can tell you about that form of DJ. It’s really your choice, but I like have this notebook where I keep my dreams because sometimes I like to draw a specific scene of my dream, and you can do it when you still in bed .

And about remembering dreams, every dreamer is different, from my experience some special dreams i remember for a few days, some I forgot after a few minutes… But it’s good to write down every dream you remember, no matter how little you remember…

Keep trying, and I hope you get many more LD’s.

Yeah dB_FTS said it.

Another powerful thing u can do is 2 start using ur imagination. Imagine flying, swimming, talking to spirits and gods, imagine fantasy worlds and fairies, It might sound gay, lol, but it’s a powrful way to kik start ur imagination. and man is all imagination. Meditation to still the mind is cool, also flooding ur body with conciousness-eckhart tolle.

But the best thing is to laugh as much as u can and be happy!
When ur happy u dn’t need anything cause u have everything. And everything comes to u.

Hope this helps.

Great responses, thanks to all of you!

I really agree with both of you and what really helped me to get lucid is to think about LDs on a daily basis…
What also helps me is an app for my Android phone, it’s called “Reality test lite” and it’s reminding me during the day to do reality checks. I didn’t saw the app in my dreams yet but i have the feeling that it’s helping me!

Another strange things in my last few normal dreams is… they are really vivid and when I woke up i have the feeling that I knew that I was dreaming but I couldn’t take control and i didn’t do any reality checks.
My last lucid dream also was successful without reality checks, it may sound strange i was riding a bike very fast and even jumping with it very high and after some time I realized that it is a dream without making a reality check and I tried to keep riding the bike but somehow I woke up… maybe because I was very fascinated.

I’m lazy, but I will try to start making a DJ in the new year 2010.

Thanks again and happy holidays!

Looks like a great start!

I hope you’ll have a lot of LDs, happy holidays

Hi again folks, I’m happy to say that I had my second “true” lucid dream! Before last night I had a lot of vivid dreams and some dreams that I knew somehow that I’m dreaming but I couldn’t take control/didn’t release to do a reality check.
But last night I had a really vivid dream. (it might be because I eat fish for dinner and as far as i know it helps for vividness) During the dream I was with my best friend and noticed that he behave strange and did a reality check. I don’t know why but I always do the check with the breathing… I kept my nose closed and I was able to breath! Such a amazing feeling… After that he told “Oh, I see… you know now that you are dreaming.” and I got really exited and the dream began to fade away… I remembered the trick with rubbing your hands and did it and this helped a bit. I wanted to fly with a carpet and did it but somehow I fell into darkness and the dream ended. After that I was able to see some visualizations (for very short time but they were very cool) and felt into sleep paralysis… it wasn’t that bad as some people described it, I just kept chilling and it fade away… there were no strange noises or visualizations, I was just unable to move.

So that was my second experience… During the day I keep doing reality checks from time to time and maybe this helps but I have no idea why exactly yesterday I got lucid… Maybe because during the day there were 2-3 situations that were strange and I did a realty check but it was reality and I said to me… damn… that was so strange… I should start realizing such things in dreams to.
I want to increase my lucid dreams but don’t know how yet. Actually after my first lucid dream I thought it will become easier to have lucid dreams but it’s not.

Nice!

When ur friend said “oh i see u know that ur dreaming” u mustof felt so good then.
I had something similar but with my mom. It was the best feeling. sleep paralysis is fine, nothing to be scared about.
Your in the beginning of your journey and soon u’ll discover ur own unique way to become lucid.
Happy,
