Several times I have had this happen to me: I fall asleep watching tv downstairs. About an hour later I wake up and decide that I should go upstairs and get in bed. However, I must not be fully conscious or sane because I get a feeling of terror and rush to take my clothes off and get in bed. I can’t describe it but I always end up in bed with the pillows covering my ears. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing, or if anyone knows anything about it. These haven’t happened since I’ve gotten interested in LD’s, but next time I’ll see if I can do a WILD or something. Maybe it’s a state between being fully awake and being conscious and having sleep paralysis.
interesting, but actually it sounds a bit sceary to me . i have no idea what it could mean, but i’m really interested to hear more about it…
i have once this thing, what seems to be with the same kind of feeling. i was going to fall asleep wery soon, but suddenly, like a maniac, i rushed to the kitchen and throwed water on my face. then i realized i was there and like “woke up” properly. it was so confusing when i found myself there… i know i still wasn’t sleepwalking, 'cos in a freaky way i knew what i was doing… it was wierd.
…but i’m not sure has this anything to do with your experience though.
claudia, thamks for replying, and I think what you described is very similar to mine. The only thing is that with mine I never “fully woke up” but went right to sleep quickly. And yeah-It was pretty scary, It was a feeling of terror that overwhelmed me…but somehow covering my ears helped. It was like I was awake but lacked the rational reasoning to realize that there was nothing to be afraid of.(Kind of like a dream) I wonder if it’s like the thing that happens to sleepwalkers if you wake them up-they get disoriented and often attack the people who woke them.

hmm.
There’s lot of possibilities of what this might be in my view, you were alseep and therefore being tossed into the real world while half asleep in it’s self could be scary.
It’s possible you had a nightmare, you don’t remember and half asleep your rationality could still be sleeping and think that the nightmare is still happening. Your immediate thought would then be to hide somewhere safe, and since most people would believe that their bed IS the safest place you went their almost subconsciously.
There is the possiblity that you have a spirit in ur house, sound weird but the subconscious mind is how they contact you. Since you were only half awake you may have been able to sence them around you, which of course scared you as you couldn’t understand it.
