Hallucination? OOBE? LD? What was this?

Hey this is my first post, so if I don’t sound like I know what I’m doing, or I’m in the wrong section, please help me.

I had a weird experience in January, just after New Year (morning of 2nd January). I had been away with friends for the past four nights, and had hardly any sleep for this period of time. When I got home I was exhausted and fell asleep early in the evening.

I woke up early in the morning, was awake (I think) and turned over to go back to sleep. I felt a weird rocking, rumbling sensation, as though I were on a train, and began to hear train rumbing creaking noises. I then find myself on a train, the same kind that I take to school everyday, and I walk through the train and sit down. As far as I can remember, everything seemed pretty normal, the seats were the right colours, everything was in the right places. Suddenly, I make the train crash, and it crashed into a wall, and the whole train is squished up and I am crushed. Then I woke up.

I looked at my digital clock, it did have a sensible time on it, so I think I was awake. I then turned over and as I did, the rocking started again. I turned to face the other way, but whichever way I faced, I had the weird rocking, rumbing train sensation. Then I am back on the train, and it crashes again. But this time I can see myself standing on a platform, a small shadow, and the train also has me in it, I think. Then I woke up again.

I looked at the time again, it was about half an hour later. I thought about what had just happened, and tried to see if it would happen again. The rumbling started again, but I didn’t end up on the train. I was still in my room, but when I looked at the clock, it instantly blurred out. I said “What’s the time?” twice, the first time I could say it clearly, but the second it was blurred. I then think I woke up, maybe it was a false awakening, but I then felt the rumbling again.

I still was in my room, and the clock blurred out again. Then my sister came into my room. She asked me whether the “demons” were haunting me too. I said yes, then tried to say no, as obviously demons don’t exist, but couldn’t. I then woke up.

What do you think this was? I was really confused. I know that at least in the train bit, I had some control, as I made the train crash. I wondered if maybe I was hallucinating, because I was so tired. Any ideas?

I think the vibrations were the vibrations usually felt while doing WILD (hover mouse over word) probably caused through you being very tired.)
So you would have been ‘transported from being awake to the dream’ … I wouldn’t say it was lucid as you didn’t say you knew it was a dream at the time … or were you aware of that fact?

and finally …
 welcome to LD4all

It was most probably pre WILD and a few FA’s. Perfectly normal, and the start to having a LD.

Sounds to me like you were conscious during the transition to the dreamstate and this probably happened because you were sleep deprived.

Hi. :nodnodwinkwink:

I’d call the train parts a near lucid dream. Sometimes I’ll know that I’m in that place where I can fly and walk through walls, but still not make the realization that it’s a dream.

The rumblings could’ve been what we call “vibations” - though for me they’ve usually got a pronounced electric feel to 'em. But everybody’s different. It could’ve also been your tactile dream-senses turning on before other ones (since you ended up being on a train)… When a person maintains consciousness while falling asleep, they’ll often experience hypnagogic imagery (random pictures that pop up) or weird sounds (loud noises or voices). Other senses can get similar effects… Ever been nodding off and suddenly feel like you’re falling?

The other bits sound like False Awakenings… Or maybe the demons really are after you! No! Wait! Come back! I was only teasing…

Sounds like a bunch of FA’s to me. And HH too  Thats pretty interesting…I’ve had something like that happen once.
