has anyone ever DIED in an LD ?

So you can’t?

What was the point of that? And I meant do you really really die?

No, you cannot die from a dream. I think Bruno meant that if a dream ends, do you die?

Fair enough. Here’s the thing — don’t worry, you don’t die. I don’t know where people hear that dying thing, it’s not the first time it is asked here in the forum, but seriously: humbug. I’ve died in dreams; and I’ve died in lucid dreams — and yet, here I am.

You can’t die dreaming lucid any more than you can dreaming normally.

Whats it like to die? God must like you to keep sending you back.

Exterior, a garden square. Day. There’s a gorgeous fountain, the streams of water originate in a stone pool and spread through small open streams, oozing and making a drawing—something resemblant of the Nazca lines.

There’s a tree in front of me, it has no leaves and no fruit, but I feel something dense in between its branches and sticks, as if I could feel the presence of the long fallen leaves. It’s not a good presence, though, fear emanates from the tree.

A sacrificial altar in the top of a piramid. Dusk. I’m lying down in a kind of a stone board, facing the skies above me. I’m going to be ritually sacrificed. I realize it’s an important, inevitable moment, and I’m no longer scared of it.

The ahaucan lifts his hand to the sky, he’s holding a stone knife. When it comes down, it touches the base of my throat and cuts my chest open. I don’t feel pain. In fact, all I feel is a shivery, almost pleasant sensation. He puts his hand inside my chest and pulls my heart out with it. He lifts it to the people behind me, watching from the base of the piramid.

I see it beating, my own heart beating in front of me, and then I feel something, as if some strong energy was coming from it, and filling my whole with once again pleasant numbness, and at the same time a kind of electrical feeling oozing and spreading through my body.

The people behind me yell in frenesi and awe, and I know I’ve been sacrificed—I’ve been made sacred. The whole world around me fades to black, and I’m suddently awake. ■

There’s a bigger yet finer dream of mine where I die, which also happens to be a lucid one. It’s actually a pair of dreams from a same night. Their names are “Hybris” and “Hell.”

Absolutely not. I’ve died alot of times and nothing happens. If anything you just wake up. That or just keep dreaming.

One time I died and I floated up out of my body. I looked down at it lying there. So I kicked it,called it a piece of crap and went on with my dream.

Oh nice, kick yourself. I’m sure it help a lot.

I’ve died in non-lucid dreams, but not a lucid one.

Something to keep in mind though is if the person died, how could we know what they were dreaming at the time?

Troober, Damn straight!

Its not actually all that bad, ive died in a lucid and then been reborn it was quite special

I always wake up when I die, but still have had enough deaths to know that I’m still alive now.

I haven’t died in a dream recently, but when I was around 3-7 and I didn’t know much about LDs, sometimes I would realize that i was dreaming in the middle of a nightmare and would jump of a cliff, throw myself in the lion’s mouth, let myself be killed, etc. in order to wake up. I also loved the feeling that I got. I wouldn’t be able to see anything except the faint outline of these high barstools that I had when I was a kid (I saw something like what you see after staring at a bright light and then closing your eyes) rotating around as if i were falling, and the feeling that I was falling, exactly like the feeling you get when you are on a drop in a roller coaster (which I coincidentally love). Then I woke up.

Yeah one time when I was really young and (sadly) knew nothing about LDs, I was having a nightmare where a vampire was trying to kill me. I realized I was dreaming and I tried as hard as I could to wake up, but I couldn’t. I decided that I had to kill myself to wake up so I ran over to a nearby lake and jumped in and drowned, then I woke up. If I had knew anything about LDs back then, I would have killed the vampire easily.

Well, I didn’t see myself die, but I fell to my death.
It all started when I was in a plane. For some reason I got sucked out and was hanging on to a rope. I noticed that things didn’t seem right, that’s when a realized I was dreaming. I let go and tried to fly, but couldn’t.

I had a dream where I was in this FPS video game that I used to play and I died due to a fireball, but due to the nature of the game I respawned shortly after.

i’ve died alot in dreams, and i always remember them.

From what i remember, ive died:

1.Getting a bomb strapped to me in what looked like World war 1 and sacrificed by being blown up on the battlefield…

 1. Jumping off a tall building and landing on some large cocktail stick thingys (like large stakes) puncturing my lungs, then laying in a bed, getting out and remember losing breath.

 2. Slowing going underwater while paralysed, and feel the air being sucked out of me.

 3. Getting lined up in a subway and a man with a gun just saying something like “your gone” then shooting the people 1 by 1, i try to run and get shot in the neck and back. once again i feel myself dying, its very very real.

Tholey died in his sleep, maybe you can?
I died often in my dreams without waking up.
It was always another experience, sometimes i just appeared on a street, sometimes i went into another world, an empty one.
The feeling when i died was incredible.

I sure have died many times but still I am alive, u shouldn’t worry about dying, keep on dreaming

I remember that, in a ND, I drowned once in a lake.
It was the only time I drowned, because usually everytime I’m in water, I still can breathe and realize that I’m dreaming.
This time it was somewhat strange, because even though I could still breathe while I was drowning, I didn’t realize after all that it was a LD. After I died, I stood in a small room of an marine museum and bubbles of air came out of my mouth, like I was still under water. There was a vitrine hanging on the wall. It read that I died in a lake.
Then I woke up and I was still alive

Unless your basing your Dreamworld on “The Matrix” (Your Body Cannot Live Without The Mind), I dont think dying in a dream can kill you in RL. Because, you have complete control over your dream, you can get nuked and survive, cause your that awesome.

I have died and being wounded many times (In ND)
