I’ve died numerous times in NDs–probably many times that I don’t remember, too. It’s a strange sensation, and usually one that I can hold off for a moment or two if I want. Everything goes black, and I just feel like…well, like I’m shutting down. Kind of like a computer. Then I typically wake up. I’ve never gone to heaven or anything in a dream, though I’m a Christian and definitely believe in heaven.

I have also died many times in NDs but I’ve never died in LDs. When I die in ND I just wake up before I’m actually dead.
I would think of that If I die in LD, I would maybe black out for a moment, and then come back. Or just wake up!

Yes,on my first attempt at VILD I found myself on some stairs and all the sudden some elephantine man in a police uniform ran up the stairs and shot me in the forehead with a handgun. I instantly woke up but I felt something on my forehead as if someone was pressing their finger on it and it would not go away for like 20 minutes.
Runon sentences are acceptable in my world.
I once held a gun to my head and pulled the trigger on myself in a WILD. Everything went black, then I woke up immediately with a terrible side-splitting headache. Had to sit up and hold my head for a minute or two before it subsided, was a pretty scary experience.
Well i actually died intoxicated once which was the only time i died ever. After inhaling the gas all went black for a second but then the dream appear again, so i’m not sure if i really died or just ‘‘closed my eyes’’.

I’ve never really had any dream I would call “lucid,” but I find that in dreams, in general, I’m always practically indestructible. No matter what, I seem to live. I think the closest I have come to dying was when I was having a duel with someone (I could not see who it was, but it was a man) in a dark sort of ‘void’ (it was hard to tell if I had just forgotten the details, or if I was too concentrated to notice the details). Anyway, he disarmed me, and I was on the ground on my back with the sword at my neck. I made peace with the fact I was about to die, and I told him to “finish it.” I remember rather vividly the blade cutting my neck (I can’t believe that sensation! I wasn’t even scared at all, actually. Just sad.). However, when I didn’t die I just became extremely annoyed with my attacker because he wasn’t “finishing me off” quickly and dragging things out - and I woke up. (Annoyed is a rather odd thing to feel when someone is “killing” you. xD)

I’ve not had any lucid dreams but whenever I go through anything in a ND where I should die I usually just miraculously escape.

I’ve died a few times, not very often though. I may have died this morning, I think I was just injured though. I was woken up by my mother talking on the phone so I went back to sleep and pretty much immediately slipped into an LD. I was in a parking lot near a highway and to double check if I was dreaming or not I did the “poke your finger through your hand” thing but it didn’t work since I’m basically immune to that one now. I pushed so hard I broke my finger, 
I healed my finger then I looked up and saw this car coming towards me. I moved out of the way but it kept coming straight at me so I waited until it got close, then jumped out of the way. Then it tried to hit me again so I used TK to throw something at it, then I jumped on the side of the car and hung on so they wouldn’t run me over, (plus, I wanted to look inside.) Then, all of a sudden this man in a black suit pops out of the car window with a 9mm and I’m like, “Oh sh— 
…that’ll wake me up from shock.” So I turn my back to jump off and create a forcefield around me and the man shot me 4 or 5 times in the back. Each shot hurt like 
at the forth or fifth shot I woke up and I could still hear that last shot ringing in my ear. (No, it wasn’t an FA, I checked.) My back has been hurting all day, darn it. I keep trying to tell my brain, “It wasn’t real! Stop hurting!” butit’snotlisteningsozimmagonnaspankitkthnxbai. 
I recently did a suicide mission in a LD, just to see what will happen. But I think I woke up before it happened, or I woke up when it happened. Hard to tell, really!
Hmm, this is an interesting question. Seeing as though you know you are dreaming when you die, it brings up some weird discussions. I have had LD’s when I have died before. When I die in dreams, its usually because I find something random to do and it all falls out of proportion. I’ve decided that my job calling is not bomb maker. =P
I force death sometimes… only if I know that something bad is going to happen… but not like a bloody, stab-stab death, more of like a cheesy video game death. Like if you’re character falls off the screen, he disappears into nothing… and then reappears somewhere else.

Every time I die, I kinda wake up in a shock. Like once I threw myself of the Eiffel (sp?) Tower. I felt a shock in my legs, then I woke up.

actually i just killed myself to get out of a nightmare by geting myself run over by a truck 
once i died i just saw black but after 5 seconds i opened my eyes IRL

Upon reading about your finger breaking, I curled up into a little ball like a scared hedgehog, and my skin crawled. What a horrible thing to happen. One of my fingers snapping would be among the worst things that could happen to me, being a guitarist.
Sorry, that was nothing to do with dying in a LD. I just had to mention my reaction to the finger breaking. I don’t think I’ve ever died in any kind of dream.
i died when i was younger in an LD i got eaten by a snake but i died but didn’t die everything went black for a bit and then the scene transformed and i was in a house and zombies were trying to kill me. it was a strange dream. 
no but almost dying was the reason i became lucid once.
