I’m from Norway, and I can see the midnight sun from a small mountain near my house.
I am from swe… what exaktly do u mean? i have seen the sun at the midnight but ther is nothing specal whit it… but that happe only at the sommer or in the really really north swe… not in sthlm there i live…
I’m from sweden to, haven’t seen it though (I live in the middle part of Sweden, a couple miles longer to the south than zardos).
Its probably not special though, like day but at a time when it should be night. probably.
cool…I am planning to visit in the near future and the midnight sun is definitely on my “things I want to see” list.
I’ve never seen it either, I live too far south too. . But it’s probably as eMb says… Nothing special. The northern lights is something Id’ like too see though. I heard that it might come some northern light these days even this south because of some magnetic changes… I’m hoping and looking.
I live just a tad south of the polar circle, so i have sadly not seen the midnight sun, even though i live in this country. The sun here in summer sets around 23:40, so pretty close…
It is close enough to the polar circle to make the sky blue all night and with quite a bit daylight.
This picture i took at around 23:30/11:30pm last summer: https://handyhub.cjb.net/sunset.jpg
Often, as my family is from northern Finland. Also i was in northernmost parts of Norway this summer where its most up. Even at 4am sun was shining brightly. So curtains come handy if you want to sleep well.
And about northern lights or aurora borealis. I can just say that at best it will blow your mind, moving flowing snake shaped green light traveling through the whole sky that gently keeps morfing all the time… Something you gotta see with your own eyes to believe. Hoping to get good chances for that now that i go up north again for new year’s eve. Sun wont rise during few months at winter over there, just dim light at day shining from horizon.
Have fun with your trip, and as it is summer, you gotta experience combination of sauna+lake+midnight sun+endless supply of beer and naked swimming.
Yeah sure…,I live in the northern parts of sweden, Luleå more exactly, and I’ve seen both the northern lights (I’ve seen the northern lights lots of times and sometimes it’s realy beutiful) and the midnight sun.
I’ll try to take some pictures of the northern lights next time they show on the sky.
I’ve seen the midnight sun a couple of times…
The norhtern lights…Oh, it almost feels like they are daily(nightly) in the winters. I remember that this summen, when a specially large solar flare erupted, the lights stretched throughout the sky. Not just in like half of it, but every single piece of heaven was glimmering…Quite buitiful…
