Alright, this might be kind of out there, but I’ve been experimenting with actually trying to make other people in my dreams lucid. I’ve had some LD’s recently where my friends are DC’s, so I’ve kind of wondered if we might be sharing dreamspace as it’s totally possibly they dream of me as well. If that makes sense…
Anyway, the first time I tried this, I was met with anger and got chased by my friend. The second time, the girl I tried to tell she was dreaming replied with a sarcastic “Yeah, sure.” type attitude.
Last night I actually tried to wake totally unknown DC’s into lucidy, but that ended up in them surrounding me. Yelling “YOU’RE ALL IN A DREAM, DON’T YOU GET IT?!?!?!” might not have been the best method, haha.
I’m really just kind of curious if it’s possible to share dreamspace, even unknowingly. I’ve read of shared dreaming, but never experienced it. It would be pretty amazing to get a friend lucid, if nothing else, just to share the experience with another person. Have you guys tried this or have any thoughts?
BTW, the only person to even remotely entertain my notion that he was dreaming was Quentin Tarantino, HAHA!
ahhh yes shared dreaming, this is something i have always wanted to achieve. Me and my friend are trying to meet. IRL we made up a meeting place and have tried to meet there and hopefully both recall the dream in the morning. My first ever lucid dream i told my friend we were dreaming, he said, “no were not” but i ignored him. Its very very likely DC’s will tell you some cheapo or sarcastic answer. But one time i told this random person that she wasnt real and she just smiled. I then asked her has she ever been here before [in my dream] She said, “Yes and i take many different forms, and i feel we will be getting to know eachother very well soon.” I then told her to make me lucid next dream and she just smiled at me and dissapeared… That was amazing… Especially right after waking up. I am assuming she is my DG/SG or some other entity… such a weird yet cool subject.
Other times ive told people they werent real they freaked out and ran away. My neighbor ( who i told wasnt real) slammed the door on me. They all seem to have different reactions on what they do but they usually deny it. I myself completely believe shared dreaming is possible. Its just some sort of weird phenomenon that happens. Ive have read so many like articles of peoples experiences of shared dreaming and it has totally convinced me. Wouldnt that just be the coolest thing if you and a friend ever night could just hang out and do whatever you want?? definately a subject to put some more research into…
He didn’t say much, just made a thinking “Hmmm…” face. He thought for a second, then shook it off with a “Nahhhh…”. I didn’t expect much of a reaction from him, but I threw a “BTW, you’re dreaming.” at him as I walked out the door. I was definitely surprised he gave it any thought.
I can’t remember if seeing him actually triggered my lucidity or if he came in right as I became lucid. Sometimes I just wake up in the dream with no real starting point, if you know what I mean. The lucidity just slowly increases from an undetermined point.
Imagine how cool waking up Tarantino into a shared dream would have been! Maybe he would make a movie about lucid dreams! It was definitely an odd appearance to say the least!
Interesting… I don’t know why they usually deny it. I’ve read on the forum there are different kinds of DC’s… perhaps you asked a wrong DC or maybe your expectation is predetermining the response?
Whenever i become lucid… DC’s usually smile and stare at me when i ask them questions like that. once while becoming lucid talking to a bus driver on a bus, I look back at the whole front of the bus looking at me with big happy grins… looking at them in confusion, one walks on over to me (smiling out of embarrassment for me(?)), takes my hand and guides me to a seat. don’t remember much after that. but yeah… they smile when becoming lucid or telling them they are DC’s (one said “I Love You”), I guess its better than them slamming doors, heh. but I’ll make sure to ask again sometime while lucid, if ever this dry spell ends
I think I read in Robert Waggoners book, or too better say his theory was that the actual persons not normal DCs in our dreams would be persons that looked lost or afraid or disoriented… And I thought about that and it makes sense, because we are usually like that…
