Having problems with Recalling Dreams

It’s been awhile since I’ve recalled some dreams, and I’m having problems with dream recall. Lately I haven’t been able to remember any dreams at all, yet I can remember some fragments. I’ve tried all the tricks I could do to try to recall my dreams, but nothing helps. Sometimes I forget to recall/remember my dreams when I wake up in the morning or sometimes I forget to remind my self. And I don’t get motivated when it comes to this kind of stuff. I used to be good at remembering dreams but right now everything is blank. How can I over come this? I would like to recall my dreams as possible. Would using mantras to remind my self to stay still in the morning and recall would help? And I’ve been trying to recall my dreams by reading over my journal and I feel like I lost the ability to recall. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

I could not discern whether you are still writing in your dream journal or not. You had said you’ve tried all the tricks, and that you read your dream journal…
But are you still writing it?

It does not matter if it is nonsense fragments, and doesn’t make any sense. Write anything that comes to mind that you recall. It doesn’t have to be linear, story, or any of the sort. Even if it is just small keywords, like colors or shapes. Just get your brain active and a reason to recall all the little details it can.

Actually i have a nice technique that helps me alot for lazy people like me!

I always put my clock at 7:50am and turn on my phone! Personally i write faster on my phone than on a journal or whatever! Then when i wrote all the things that i had in mind i finish my day and come back to my phone and pick up my dream journal, and write then what i wrote the morning, i put some music and its fun remembering your dreams before bed time  thats how i personally do for my dream journal

I agree with what Lumessence said. Get your brain in the habit of recalling, even if it’s just small details, and write in your DJ.

A good way to get some easy dreams is to have a nap in the day. Use MILD or any tech you like to remind yourself to remember any dreams. Also, if you have a day where you can lie in a bit, set your alarm to go off fairly early and then just go back to sleep, (Just WBTB in the morning really). Basically just try to break up your sleep a bit while you have long REM periods and you should remember something.

Even if you feel like you can’t be bothered sometimes, just sit there and think. Run through key words in your head and see if something jogs your memory. You’ll remember something, just think positive.
