If you’re anything like me, I tend to jump into something with really unreasonable expectations of myself. This only causes a lot of despondency.
So what I’ve learned to do, instead of saying to myself I am going to record my dreams every single night of the week (which can become unreasonable due to the fact that every night will be different and the circumstances around your sleep will be different too depending what is happening in your life). I say to myself, okay, let’s at least get in 2 or 3 nights of dream recall for the first few weeks and build up my dream recall capacity. Trying to focus on getting as many details from those 2 or 3 nights of dreaming as possible and then we can build it up from there and try to increase the number of days I recall my dreams.
Something I like to remember is that it is all about confidence in myself, if I can believe I am going to achieve it then it will happen. Whether it happens right away or over some time, but it will happen because that’s what I want to achieve.
