I have looked in many places, but I have not been able to find a thread on any forum that specifically discusses what I think should be an important issue: maintaining good mental and physical health.
A good diet, sufficient and regular rest, and some daily exercise is important to provide yourself with the energy and hormones to do well through the day. I have noticed many people posting here mention that they work out or ‘go to the gym’ regularly, and I was wondering if anyone has noticed or studied any correlation of healthy living to the frequency/quality of lucid dreams.
I try to run a few times a week, and usually have a balanced (if sporadic) diet. I have found that if I make efforts to eat, sleep, and exercise properly in my waking life, tasks seem easier and less daunting, and I am able to have a better overall outlook on things. I have not been remebering dreams much for some time, although I do on occasion and have recently.
Another thing I noticed that helped my sleeping pattern normalize was getting a prescription for glasses and wearing them regularly. I was very surprised to find this, but if I don’t wear my glasses during the day, I will be very tired, and at the end of the day it will be harder for me to get to sleep.
Let me know what your take is on the topic, and if you have any other insight or information that might help me or others!
I started exercising 2-3 times a week faithfully a few months ago. This week I tried exercising every day, and I have remembered many long vivid dreams this week! I haven’t had any lucid dreams in a long time, but my dream recall is higher this week than it has ever been, and I have been able to recall much longer durations of events too. I also feel pretty good, too . If anyone else tries this, or anything else health and dream related, please post it here!
I believe that having a healthy body contributes to having a healthy mind. Getting the proper vitamins and minerals seems to help brain function and frequent excercise is always a good thing…so I say go for it, it’s a win-win situation whether it helps (LDing) or not.
