Sometimes when I dream, I squint so it is hard to see. I guess I am not realizing I am dreaming, so I don’t do anything. I would have to say it is like squinting and trying to see in the pitch black with a dying flashlight. It frustrates me, and I can’t do anything about it. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Hmm is there any reason why you squint? That’s interesting, and I really wish I had an answer for you.
if this happens in normal dreams … you could use it as a dream sign and use it to become lucid. Once lucid, vision shouldn’t be a problem … just think laterally, even if you can’t open your eyes you will be able to see through your eye lids in a LD if you decide this is possible.
/me waits for someone who has experienced the same problem to post
this happened a lot before i had my first LD. But it happened again, and it seems that I can’t realize that I am dreaming, because I can’t see the world around me.
Often I go into LD in pitch black. I just start to make out my dream hands (through concentrating) and wake up!
This is usually when I first fall asleep at night and I am concentrating on having an LD before I fall asleep. I will start to feel as if I am falling (sometimes accompanied by a buzzing noise) and then I am standing in blackness.
It is frustrating. I don’t know what to suggest? I am amazed at how many people come here with the same problem.
I have found my best LD’s have been when I haven’t concentrated so hard, usually because I often naturally wake up at about 4.00am and when I fall back to sleep I LD then.
It’s all good…
One of my problems is that I have to wake up at 5 in the morning, so i can get ready for marching band practice.
I have to be at the school at 6:30.
Hehe, I wake up at 4AM and need to be at school at 7 tough mornings I tell you…
