HELP! Not sure if I had an OBE or LD or just a dream?

Today at 4:20 AM, I woke up and prepared myself for WILD, stayed up for 20 minutes and returned to bed, but I fell asleep and failed.

Later I woke up at 6:00 AM and deiced to try again, 10-15 minutes later, I could hear footsteps and my parents talking in the other room, I knew it was completely normal and continued. About 5 minutes later, I was in a semi-dream state, I was “seeing” random stuff, it was like a short story, I was still conscious though. Suddenly, I felt something very weird, and felt my “dream body” sliding out from the physical body, like a CD tray, only more smoothly and slowly.

I was in my room, everything seemed real. I, however “ignored” my will to see my body on the bed and reached for the window, because I “wanted to see the sky”. This was weird, like something else too had a share of my thoughts or conscious. Maybe I was not fully conscious. Anyway, i reached the window, and teleported (involuntarily) to my grandparents place, to the window where I used to sit (yes, used to sit) when I was a child. I was amazed to see the view from there, it was exactly how it used to be.

After a couple of seconds I decided to fly, but just to make sure, I decided to do a RC, the moment I blocked my nostrils and tried to breathe, I was in my bed. The dream (or whatever it was) had ended.

It was magnificent. The time was 6:40, and I was too tired to wake up, so I continued with sleeping (ordinary sleeping). Later I had 5 “dreams about lucid dreaming”, and whenever I (my subconscious) tried a RC in it, either I woke up, or the RC failed and I still believed it was a dream because of the weirdness of the surroundings. Some of the dreams were confusing enough to make one believe they were actually lucid dream, but since i experienced to “transition of awareness”, I believe they were ordinary dreams.

So, I need help, whether it (the first transition) was OBE, or LD or just a ordinary dream about LD.
Also, why did all my other dreams failed to make a RC successful?

Any kind of help appreciated, thanks!

This was probably a OBE. i can’t tell for sure, because i didin’t dream it. But it certainly matches the description of OBE and my experience with them.

That’s totally an OBE. Congratulations

Sometimes when you do an RC in a dream you wake up, and it’s not because of excitement. My only explanation is that maybe the dreams were fragile.

If I’m self-aware, and have the sensation of leaving my body, I call it an OBE. An out-of-body experience is just that–an experience of separating from your body.

Lucidity varies in both OBEs and LDs. It’s not an all-or-nothing affair. You can be perfectly aware that you’re asleep and dreaming, but can still accept wrong details as right. There are degrees of lucidity with a critical threshold being either (1) knowing that you’re in a dream, or (2) knowing that you’re in some altered state of consciousness (like an OBE).

Congratulations! Don’t worry about why the RCs didn’t work. You took a solid step forward in your exploration of consciousness. I recommend multiple kinds of RCs to get around the inevitable situation of a failed RC.
