Im new to the forums, and to LDing in general, and had a few question i was hoping to get some good answers to. Ive only practiced LDing for the past 3 nights trying the WILD technique (which i realize now is more complicated that i thought it would be) with no success. I start to see flashes of blue and often see some images that are very very blurry and most times have to really think about it to determine what they are. My body begins to twitch and slightly shake as i repeat “i will be dreaming soon… i will be aware that i am dreaming… i will be dreaming soon” etc, but then i usually just drift off.
During the day i use RCs like looking at my hands and asking myself if i am dreaming. Another important factor is that i have very low dream recall. I will remember a ND probably only once every 2 weeks or so.
Is there any way i can raise my dream recall? And what are some methods to stop myself from drifting off?
Obviously, you are very detached from your dreams. You should get more familiar with them, how they look like, act like, etc… Once you get more familiar, you are much less probable for drifting off, simply because you will recognize the drifting part more easily.
I suggest you try cucumbers - Eat one right before brushing your teeth, with a single thought that you will remember your dreams. Once you get to bed and start to get real sleepy, think that thought again and again and again. Hope it works!
i read some things about B6 and other B vitamins to help with dreaming aswell, how true is this and is there anything in particular i could buy for this?
Welcome to the forum and the wonderful things that await in LDing!
Have you tried WBTB?
As for preventing yourself from drifting off, you will have to find something that works for you. Counting may work, or visualizing something that keeps you aware. Oh, and in order for you to be able to WILD, you have to fall asleep.
Dream recall, as many things with LDing, are a matter of practice. It doesn’t matter if you do not remember full dreams at first. Just try to remember anything (emotions, impressions, sensations, odd characters or scenes) and write it down. If you do not keep a DJ, you are just being lazy. Try it.
Dream recall will come in time.
