i had my first 2 real ld’s this week
i had complete control and had no trouble keeping myself asleep…well the first one only lasted a minute or 2 before my alarm woke me up
but the second one was about 10 minutes
my trouble is i tried to fly in both and nothing happens
i do remember that in the second ld I materialized ice cream …i was watfching tv and there was a commercial for this really good ice cream that they have at my school and i materialized it and ate it
but anyways…
also in the second dream i tried to fly and i couldnt…i remember saying outloud i was going to levitate and then i looked at my reflection in a window and i was levitating about 1 foot or two off the ground but when i looked down at my feet they were still on the ground
does anyone have any tips on how they levitate in dreams?[/i]
some good words from the matrix, they can really make u understand how to control your dreams and do watever u want
Do not try and bend the spoon, thats impossible, instead only try and realize the truth. There is no spoon
in other words, dont try to hard, just know that everyhing around u and everything u do is being controlled by ur brain, ur thoughts…so in other words, just i guess know that u can do it, and u will, i tried this in my first ld, and i flew…
i told myself, i will fly and i did, wen i didnt really concentrate on knowing i could fly, i rose a couple feet, then boom on the ground.
I’d recommend the following. It worked perfectly for me the first time I tried flying in a lucid dream.
First, it is a good idea before you go to sleep to have the intent to fly in your lucid dream. I find that going into a dream with an idea of what you want to do helps you from losing lucidity when you realize you are dreaming, and helps you manage every precious second you get without wondering what you should do. My longest lucid dream was two minutes, so this was a big help for me.
Secondly, once you are in a dream (and realize it), start running. Run as fast as you can. Keeping your arms spread might not be a bad idea. When you feel you are ready to fly, say “I’m going to fly!!!” out loud and jump. When I did this, I shot into the air and found I had perfect control.
I’ve heard that some people close there eyes and imagine themselves floating in the air (in the LD) and when they open them they are high above the clouds, making flying easier.
eh… this is my 100th post , and my 3rd star
Throw yourself at the ground and miss. I don’t know who said that, think it might have been Robert Monroe. It’s more or less useless to try gentler methods such as levitating when you’re starting out. Do it more violent. Just hurl yourself forward and downwards, then simply alter the direction you’re falling in. Simple as that.
edit: Also, try not to be ‘afraid’ you’ll plummet to the ground in the attempt. And even if it happens, don’t try to fight it that way, you’ll just spend all your energy fighting yourself. I found that when I just emptied my mind and stopped exercising force over myself, flying became a lot easier.
My way, is I look at a distant point, above the horizon, and move myslef towards it. Like it’s pulling me. Once in the air you should have no problem steering Good Luck!
eh, I got lucid last night and this is the first time flying has ever worked for me… (I’ve had some failed attemts before…) I didnt think it would be that “realistic” but it was really cool . I felt a tingling sensation like when you on a rollercoaster… I ran and jumped, and it came so fast that it startled me and I went into a False awakening… but it was still cool
When I first started LDing, I would fly by imagining the world around me moving. After I got the hang of it, flying became really easy and now I can just take off.
yep i have learned the fact that knowing you can do something in LD you can. Once in a LD i was in a train and i thought “now im gonna put my hand trough that window” and i did. Then i thought “now im gonna hit it, but It wont brake” and it didn’t and i hurt my hand. Then I thought “now the window will brake” and it did. When i do RC i think too “now my finger will go trough my hand”. In a dream it works ofc.
I haven’t been able to fly either - on the flip side when I do manage to (and lets face it, it’s only a mater of time) I’ll apreciate it all the more .
