Holophonic sounds??

Does anyone know where I can get free holophonic sounds?
It doesn’t have to be anything special, just sound effects or something…
I just want to try it out

Absolutely!!

Ok. Duh. :eh: After I read through more of the forum, Hemisync - Gateway Experience, I noticed someone mentioned this site:
etail.com/holophonics/about.htm
Which is the same site where I dowloaded the below files. The direct link to those samples are here:
etail.com/holophonics/samples.htm
Someone may also want to try the smaller size .mp3’s I have posted.
Geesh! after all that work.

I also went on a quest for holophonic sounds after reading the “Holographic Universe.” I’ll share with you the sounds I found.

I originally downloaded these 4 sounds as uncompressed .wav files. This equals 17MB. :bored: So I compressed these .wav files into 320kps .mp3 files. I was worried about losing fidelity or the holographic effect, but they still sound great!

So here are each of the 4 holographic .mp3 sounds. They are just sound effects. I think Pink Floyd used this technique on one of their albums.

It’s best heard with headphones. You should also DISABLE your computer’s 3D sound effects.

*TIP - My webspace will change the .mp3 extension into .mpeg. The best way to download these files with Internet Explorer is: Rightclick on the link below, then choose “Save Target As…,” once the window opens asking you to save the file … Make sure the filename’s extension is changed from .mpeg into .mp3. This will then assure the file is saved with the correct extension. Goodluck!

Open.mp3 - 653KB
Planes.mp3 - 968KB
Blowdry.mp3 - 1.07MB
Matches.mp3 - 1.38MB

Enjoy!
I can only host these file temporarily, if someone else can host them it would be great.

Thanks man, I appreciate your effort :content:

Although I had already found that site and was looking for more, but it’s great to have the files smaller, I have such a slow connection so I could only listen to matches.

Do you remember the song Pink Floyd used it in? I would really like to know…

i would love it if anything else would be linked here… some songs maybe??

Thanks again…

Can someone please explain to me what holophonic audio is?

Dark Side Of The Moon - Pink Floyd
A good example would be on the track ‘On the Run’ where you can hear footsteps running.

This topic reminds me of the Silencio scene in Mulholland Dr.

Btw, the matches.mp3 file works quite well

I’ll try the others.

Wow… Blowdry and Open are amazing… I’m amazed

I actually got “synethesia—the corresponding perceptions in the other sensory areas”. Especially with Blowdry, where I actually felt for a second like a blowdryer was blowing air on the back of my neck.
