How did i get lucid without any inducing technique?

Hello everybody,

I’m new here so a few words about me :
I started trying to LD 3 weeks ago using the french forum (yes im french) and when i’ve read everything that could help me so i came on this one. (actually this one is way better)
And i wish you guys can help me.

First I have to tell you that i do RCs during the day and thinking that i am in a dream. And I keep a dream journal (i remember at least one dream every night and it can be very detailled )

So here is my problem :
Yesterday i had my first lucid dream  but i didn’t use any inducing technique, I just went to sleep, relaxed, focused a bit on my senses. I told my self that i will know that im gonna be in a dream and fell asleep. In my dream, I got lucid out of the blue, no RCs no dreamsigns.
And i would like to understand how?

The nights before, I tryied MILD and SILD after 20 min WBTB multiples times but i had no results.
I think that MILD and SILD don’t work because after repeating my mantras or focusing on my senses, im just too awake.

So here are my questions :
-How come that when i dont use a technique I get lucid?
-How could I improve my use of the techniques? (I would rather being able to LD thanks to a technique than just hoping to have LDs randomly)

Ask me any questions if it can help you answering me or just about myself

Well, first of all you need to gave yourself a time in order to get results. 3 weeks is not a lot of time.

Why did you get lucid without inducing tech? No one can tell you for sure, but in my opinion I guess techniques are starting to work in some way. You said you do RC and you think you are in a dream. That’s a technique in a sense, and you told yourself that you will realize that you are dreaming - that’s also a sort of tech.

To get technique going you need time, it needs to sink if your mind like idea or intention. And if you didn’t do technique this night you did it previous and it left some impact on you. You need to understand that every attempt is a progress not a failure, even though you didn’t become lucid.

Your case is a prove…

Like I said, give them and yourself time…

Thank you I will. I just thought that it’s impossible to get lucid without waking up in the middle of the night.
Actually its been 5 week, i just looked in my dj, how long did it take for you?

I had a lucid dream before getting on this forum and when I joined I think a month from that time…

Some dreamers don’t use techniques they just are lucid, but we that aren’t we need to learn it like every other skill…
