How did you find out about Lucid Dreaming?

I somehow got some lucid dreams last few years, it just happened. Never had them before realy. In one of my 1st LD’s i walked down the stairs and smashed the TV set… i thought it was cool to do :cool_laugh:

 lol funny, how did learn about it??? did u just seach the internet or what???

(Nice Sig, Tao Te Ching, right?)

I read a couple of articles about it in the biggest national newspaper here a few years ago. I was unsure if it was real or just some kind of fiction but i remembered the articles and started RC:ing a few weeks later just for fun. Which worked, to my surprise

Well other-neo, as i already wrote, it just happened. I had never read anything about it, once upon a time in my sleep i just thought HEY LOL im dreaming… so then i continued to smash the TV hehehe. After that i talked about it with some friends and we got interested and i found this site while seeking info on the net.

I watched the movie waking life and saw a thread about Lucid dreaming on the IGN forums by neuropiate. After that I was too lazy to get a dream journal setup for another 4 months, then during christmas break I wanted alitle excitement and decided to start recording my dreams. I found it great remembering my dreams and loved how vivid theywere. The rest is history

remember back when i said something about brandon boyd lucid dreaming, and that got me interested? well here, i found an interview with him a few minutes ago…

do you practice lucid dreaming?

actually yes, my mom taught me when i was very young. i believe she read carlos castinada. i used to have nightmares when i was a child, and i’d wake up and go into her and say what do i do i’m scared and this and that. she always stressed enjoying your dreams. so she told me that if i was ever at a point in my dream where i wasn’t enjoying it, that i was to look at my hands and snap my fingers, and the third time i snapped my fingers i would wake up. when you’re a child, you think, oh yeah, i can do that. i would have certain reoccurring dreams, and when i wasn’t enjoying them, i would look at my hands, snap my fingers three times, and literally open my eyes. so that was how it started.

so you knew you could have an effect on your dreams at that point?

i became manipulative in good sense, in that i would create small flying machines and fly around the city in my dreams.

I learned to LD when I was a little kid because I suffered from HORRIBLE nightmares. After a while, I was able to realize I was dreaming and take complete control of my dream, thereby ending my nightmares. But by ending my nightmares, I no longer recieved the money my parents gave me if I didnt run downstairs screaming because of a nightmare, lol.

Eventually, I forgot about controlling my dreams until I Was looking for information on Astral Projection and came across Lucid Dreaming. Ever since ive been really interested in it, but ive never really tried to induce them until now.
