long srry
im a newbie, and im a pisces-i know it dosent really matter- and i sure do live up to my name im always daydreaming but i cant get over the logic-stage in order to acheive lucidity ive been doing reality checks and looking at my surrroundings and remembering my senses alot-my memories really good since im taking fish oil i can close my eyes and cleary see myself moving around my past-surroundings today,
ive even been listened to brinaural beats and saying things like “tonights dream will be a lucid dream” looking at my hands and saying*: “tonight while i sleep i will look at my hands and realize im dreaming” and saying “am i dreaming?” also ive been touching the walls and my surroundings trying to go right through them and really showing major effort by reading alot about lucidity and watching videos and just closing my eyes while in bed w/out really falling asleep and trying to visualize a virtual lucid setting and chanting my intention to have a lucid dream before going
to sleep earlier today ive been VERY succesful at this i can visualize a character moving and me controlling her in a setting w/ other characters often influenced by T.V.(silly) but it’s like an ‘almost lucidity-state’ because im not physically feeling it like your supposed to be in order for it be a lucid dream ive been experiencing sleep paralysis
im very confident i BELIEVE i can have a lucid dream in the past a few times ive been aware i was dreaming but woke up because i became scared -i didnt know it was a good thing back then but now i know how to stay in a lucid dream(spinning)-also ive had dreams of having lucid adventures and once heard foriegn noises before i went to sleep believe it or not its been like 3 days i think ive been attempting lucidity and
ive tried self-hypnosis and used to be on a prescription drug that i now know can induce lucid dreams in the past months-though this was before i was attempting lucidity and for a different intention-
i keep a dream journal but i havent had any dreams yet(i know it sucks) anyway obviously im trying the MILD technique im a teenager-14 F- and sadly ive read puberty can affect lucidity-also i think i might be developing some sort of sleep disorder i forgot the name but its when you sleep mostly during the day on-and-off and then have trouble going to sleep at night and eat @ night frequently but this is due to the fact that im trying to attempt lucidity at night also i think my health condition could be ‘holding me back’ sigh anyway back to my question(s):
1.by the path in going on do you think i might be successful on achieving lucidity? Y/N *just guess
2.how do you overcome logic in order to achieve lucidity? Y/N
3.do you know of any stores a novadreamer can be purchased(not online)? and whats the price($)?
It sounds like you’re going through great lenghs to achive a lucid state of dreaming and by the sound of things it also seems you’re getting very close to achiving it. The main problem new people seem to have when discovering they’re dreaming is containing their level of excitment, or in your case fear and thus they wake up pretty quickly soon after. Next time you discover you’re dreaming try to calm down, take things easy and examine your hands or hold onto something in the dream evironment for a moment to stay there. You could also try the spinning method I suppose.
The way you make it sound though, is like you’re hard work has had it’s side effects and has distorted your biological clock. Your sleep disorder I am refaring to. So I suggest you take an easier approach like WILD. Use an alarm to wake you at approximately 5 hours into sleep where you’ll be ready to hit the sack and fall asleep again right away. Then try what ever technique you’re trying to do from that point and it should take much less time to get to sleep and dream.
Now then, onto the questions.
Yes, I think you’re getting very close.
I don’t quite understand this question. Do you not think there’s a logical explanation for lucid dreaming?
Most lucid dreaming equiptment is sold online and I wouldn’t have any idea what kind of store, nevelone the name to look for on the streets. But personally, I don’t think such a device is really neccessary. It can be done without.
I wish you the best of luck Defylogic. Happy dreaming ;3
Hi defylogic. You sure seem to have done some major research . Believe it or not, you might be over thinking this all just bit. Lucid dreaming is only as hard as you make.
There’s no reason why not if you don’t let attempting to become lucid stress you out. And don’t become worried about things such as puberty or odd sleep patterns. If you can sleep, you can dream. If you can dream, you can be lucid. There’s no reason for prescription medicine or hypnosis, you can do it
Why do you need to overcome logic? Isn’t logic important? Logic is how you figure out you’re dreaming. Logic is what finally kicks in when you become lucid. Logic gives you encouragement (logically, if are in a dream and dreams are products of your mind, you have all the power you could ever want because you have control of your mind). It’s not logic that hold people back, it’s doubt. You feel you can’t fly because according to RL physics it is not possible, not because it’s illogical.
I’m don’t know where you live, but very few stores in the US (if any) carry them. In the end I’m not really convinced that it’s actually worth the money. Nothing is a guarantee in lucid dreaming, and different methods work for different people.
A little bit extra advice:
-Do like Dreamfox said and try setting an alarm for 5-6 hours after you go to bed. It really helps with both awareness and DR.
-Always, always, always doubt that you’re awake. If this was a dream, you’d still be pretty convinced it was real, right? Well do an RC then, just to be sure. Maybe do another, that first could just be an FM in a dream. If you learn to stay aware of your surroundings and you can keep questioning yourself like that, the lucids will comes. It’s really not that complicate when you really examine it.
yeah your right i didn’t think it would be easy i guess thats what i meant by ‘overcoming logic’ because when im trying the WILD method i always end up not knowing where to go from there i try visualizing a setting and moving around in it (trying to turn a normal dream into a lucid one) but after a while my body would just get exhausted by the extreme concentration even when the sleep paralysis has reached a profound state and i just ‘let go’ of my thoughts all i see is black or white sometimes and i cant sleep like that i would just get too flustered and end up just sleeping in another direction and then i dont even have dreams AT ALL yes im trying Dreamfox’s advice also i tryed another users method to do w/ WILD counting up to 100 after you wake up and then opening your eyes and doing a RC or two but its like no matter what i do i keep waking up to no avail im still hopeful though it’s only been 4 days anyway i do have a few questions
1.what do you think is the best position to place your body when trying to have a lucid dream?
2.(if its not too much to ask)what things happen when you have LD’s?
3.what method do you use?
4.whats the best time to attempt to have lucid dreams?(or rather when do you try)
5.how long did it take you to have LD’s?(if your a natural then how long do you think it would normally take?)
