A lucid dream is just a normal dream where you know you’re dreaming. This allows you to control your dream. Sometimes this knowledge will make the dream more realistic, but it varies. You can’t have a lucid dream without knowing you’re having one.
Bzz! Wrong! It’s possible for no reason to dream about that you are lucid but not being lucid.

At any rate, you’re wrong 
. If you’re dreaming that you’re lucid, but aren’t actually lucid, then it’s an ULD (which is just a ND).
It’s not a lucid dream unless you know you are dreaming.
Sorry 'bout that, Sureal, i wasn’t specific about it and i should have wrote ULD instead of being obnoxiously typing that piss talk.
