I was wondering this, since little details can make a difference.
How do you rub your hands?
Fast or slow movements?
Little or lots of pressure?
Back and forth movements or kind of a squeezing movements?
I usually do slow, lots of pressure and squeezing motions. I forget to try it different I wonder if any of these have better results at prolonging the dream. Does strong pressure work better (or worse) than quick friction?
And spinning. I’ve read it’s the best technique, but I’ve only succeeded once. I close my eyes when I spin. Counting to three and telling myself I’d open my eyes to a new dream scene didn’t work (opened eyes IWL ). The only time it worked I spun for about 45 seconds until a dream scene was formed and I realized I could stop spinning. But usually I wake up while spinning. Should I keep my eyes open? How fast to spin?
I only spun once in my dream. It was my first Lucid dream where I actually knew what to do. I felt my dream “phasing out” so I rubbed my hands but stopped quickly because it wasnt working. So then I spun.
I held out my arms and quicky spun in a circle. I aws in my bedroom, and didn’t close my eyes. I was doing it for a few seconds when I lifted off the ground. Sort of like a helicopter I guess So I was floating there (still spinning) and I started to slow down. I was like 3-4 feet off my floor. For like two seconds I savored the floating feeling, without the spinning.
Then I fell
Then I tried to jump in the air and float again. It didn’t work
Then I woke up
Then I got over it and said I’ll have another LD soon
Closing your eyes will bring you quickly to an end of LD
I tried rubbing my hands and spinning but it never worked.
The other way is to shout “vision!” or “sharpness!” like a direcot of a film. That worked better for me.
i have trouble increasing lucidity. rubbing my hands doesn’t work all the time, and spinning only works occasionally. i should probably practice it more. and i can close my eyes while spinning and i won’t wake up, but if i shout, for example “increase lucidity” i’ll wake up.
