How long should I sleep till MILD?

Last night I tried MILD, but I did it when I went to bed. I did have a lucid dream, not a great one though. I found out this site says MILD works best after waking up from one dream. About how long should I sleep before waking up? Also, if I just set my alarm to that time, when it goes off, what if I am awake and not too tired? Would I go to sleep and go into the REM stage immediately?(Is REM the stage dreams occur?) Would I still be able to do MILD? Another thing, would I stay in bed or get out of bed and do things after I wake, before doing MILD? I’m very new to lucid dreams so sorry if I ask a lot.

Hello:)
I guess you have lots of things upside down.
Mild is basically all you do about dreams.Starting from thinking about them during the day,reality checks through your dream diary to suggestions you make before sleep.
Most understand MILD as only suggestions before sleep.
Its NOT meant to be done after some sleep.WILD is.
Mild is meant to be done anytime:)

After i reread your post i think you actually meant WILD but you mistyped.
“About how long should I sleep before waking up?”
about 6hrs is said the best.And u need to experiment for how long you need to stay awake…some advice 5 mins,some an hour…try the options

"Also, if I just set my alarm to that time, when it goes off, what if I am awake and not too tired? “-you wont sleep:)But worry is too big.If you sleep six hours you rather want some more.
" Would I go to sleep and go into the REM stage immediately”- if u deprive yourself of sleep for long enough(usually a night will do)
“Another thing, would I stay in bed or get out of bed and do things after I wake, before doing MILD?”-you meant Wild here.Again-some will tell you to lay still and try Wild like that,others will say its good to get up,refresh your mind(tea) wake up a bit.Its personal again and none of those proved to have better effect.

Good luck,welcome to the forum.See chat sometime,people there will allways be happy to help you:)

Thanks! I did actually mean MILD, because this site said “This method works best when you have just awoken from an ordinary dream and you go back to sleep.” But to tell you the truth, I was going to try WILD sometime, and you answered pretty much everything I needed to know! I was very unclear with WILD and I was planning on trying it next weekend, but tonight I’m going to try one more MILD before I go to sleep. The first night I tried to induce a LD, (Two nights ago) I used MILD, and it worked. If it works sometime again soon then I’ll definitely try WILD.

someone please put me out of my misery and tell me what the MI and WI in MILD and WILD stand for!

MI=Mnemonic Induction
WI=Wake Initiated

and just in case u dont know what mnemonic means, it is the first letter of word you use to remember things like
