how long do you people keep trying to become lucid… all night or do you just stop if you cant and go to bed ? like do you try for a couple of hours and if it doesnt happend go to sleep ? answer please
depends on the person and the technique. I am still working on gaining lucidity. One way is to do the wake back to sleep technique. If you are trying to go straight from waking to sleep. just relax and enjoy the ride while not getting anxious about achieving. observe passively for as long as you are patient for.
Are you attempting WILD? You’re not actually supposed to try WILD at first sleep; it’s intended to be used in conjunction with WBTB due to the way REM cycles work (I can explain if you’d like).

Fennecgirl: You can try WILD whenever you want. It’s just that WILD tends to have more results when used in conjunction with WBTB. Besides, who wouldn’t want to WILD straight into sleep each night.
Bosssantana: There are many ways to try WILD. Like Fennecgirl said, WILD tends to have more results if you go to sleep first, wake back up a few hours later, and then try to WILD. Generally, each night I try to WILD straight into a dream. I haven’t had much success yet, but I believe the more I try the more likely I will be to succeed. I generally try until I run out of patience and then just roll over and sleep.
I suggest looking around the forums and using the search to find topics all about WILD.
