Hello, I just thought I’d bring up a point that has bothered me for a while. I’ve been doing RT’s for several years and I will not deny that they help a lot. But how necessary are they? For a couple of weeks, I’ve decided to eliminate RT’s just to see what would happen. There wasn’t any change in the frequency of my LD’s. I think that maybe it’s possible that once you’ve been LDing for a while, you don’t need to rely on RT’s as much. Is this possible? I’d like to be able to not ever do an RT again, because they are a pain to remember to do constantly. Some people might disagree with that statement in the previous sentence, but when I do RT’s, I tend to go all out if you know what I mean, and it’s just a hassle.
If you practice another induction technique, RC’s are not necessary. The LaBerge’s method is only MILD for instance. Anyhow I’ve the feeling RC’s give a good lucidity level basis and when you just practice autosuggestion or MILD, you’re likely to have more low level LD’s.
Well, I’ve pretty much stopped doing RC’s IRL completely, I still get LD’s. Only change is that I don’t get as many DILD’s or MILD’s anymore. I do RC’s in dreams though, mostly just to be sure that my LD’s really are dreams before I go and do anything stupid :0
