My Critical Question RC right now is to simply ask myself “What was I just doing?” and then I really stop for a moment and try to come up with a good answer
and this does seem to increase my awareness a lot, and even makes reality feel more dreamlike.
However, how often are you supposed to do this for the best results?
I sometimes do it as often as every two or five minutes, but usually more like ten or twenty minutes.
I think this is a good reality check, but you know quality is more important. dont overlook quantity, it might loose its effectiveness ! 2-5 minutes just seems too much, unless you are lucky to have the time
I read Paul Tholey recomended around 5-10 times per day ( i can not say exactly )
Well, every 2 minutes really seems quite a lot more than necessary, but since it doesn’t take that much effort I guess it is ok.
I would just do it every time I remember it, maybe every half an hour or so (it will obvously be more or less depending on how often you think about it), and if you do it less than, let’s say, 10 times a day you should try to force yourself to do it every now and then until it becomes natural to you.
Is this the only RC you do? if so i would add one because i don’t think it works with FA
Hehe well 2 minutes was a bit of a stretch I guess, this usually only happens if I really have nothing special to do, like if I’m taking a walk or something.
Anyway, I don’t think it’s the only RC I do, another thing I like doing is to imagine real life as a vivid lucid dream.
I believe this should increase my awareness quite a lot, since it makes reality feel a bit like a lucid dream and gives everything this surrealistic feel and this automatically makes me become more aware of everything around me.
I guess you could sort of call this a RC in that regard, since it triggers my awareness in a rather interesting way.
In my opinion it’s important that you actually remember to question yourself and your actions. How often? Well don’t bother with that one. Doing something repeatedly is actually what makes us struggling to become lucid, in another words - routine!
It’s a killer for us dreamers I guess. Of course at the beginning those RC’s will help you so eventually they will become the routine and they will loose its efficiency! Whit RC’s or critical questions it’s important to do them spontaneously but not automatically! Then again when something odd or really odd happens try to stop no matter how extreme the situation might be and do the RC or ask yourself a critical question.
With time you will raise your awareness and it will help you, well you already did that to some extend, right? But you can always do better!
