I’m new to LDing. On February 3rd I had my first LD. So far I’ve had 5 LDs. All of them start off somewhere else, but as soon as I realize I’m dreaming, the scene changes and I end up in my bedroom.
I’m still new to LDing so I don’t know how to change the scene. I want to go somewhere more interesting other than my house. How do I do that? (I can’t fly yet, either.)
You can imagine and really believe the place you want to be is behind a door, then open it!
What I usually do when I teleport is I spin around and say out loud where I want to go, I then slowly stop spinning and open my eyes (or just let the image appear by itself). It may take a few tries, so don’t worry if by cahnce it doesn’t work the first time.
Any other creative ideas are welcome! Remember that the best way to do something you’re not really good at in a LD is using little tricks (like flying, try a jetpack!). So maybe you can find a teleportation device? If you happen to be good at summoning or any other way you think you could bump into one
Wishing, saying out loud, asking a DC for help, using your wardrobe like in Narnia there are probably lots of other ways…
Good luck
maybe to fly use a trampoline (howeverspelt) to jump off of. as for scene, maybe stick your head through a wall expecting to see what you want. anything can work.
Be creative.
You can…hm, for example…crush the walls of the house and fly far far away.
The door thing sound nice too.
Or you can close your eyes, spin and when you open them, you are in a different world.
Anything you want. The more creative you are, the better.
EDIT: OH, I thought of something different.Take a globe and touch a country you wish to be in.
Now you can visit all those sunny beaches you dreamed of
Closing eyes isn’t that good, sometimes I fall asleep from it…loosing lucidity, door is da best!
Well, you can’t say it in general…some methods work best for some people and don’t work at all for others.
When you say you fall asleep, you mean you just lose lucidity and it turns into a normal dream?
Doors, spinning, closing/covering your eyes, are all good techniques.
I usually try to imagine all the special effects a movie would have for a teleportation and have it take me somewhere.
