Hello friends,
First, a brief into abt myself. I am a person who has a constant chattering mind and most of the time my mind would be discussing about various subjects and forming its own conclusions about the things. These discussions happen involuntarily most of the time. Sometimes, thoughts are negative. Since our subconscious mind in the dream reveals innermost feelings, i fear what would happen if these involuntary chattering happens in my dream when lucid, for ex: I enter into a lucid dream and suddenly my chattering mind asks to show when will i die (Lol, this appears insane but hope u understand my contention). this happens involuntarily as i said before and if suppose my dream really responds to these negative thoughts and reveals information which i do not want to know. This may leave me shocked in the real world.
To cut short the big story : How to prevent negative thoughts from the dream environment?
Do dream environment respond to each and every thought in our dream mind?
Suppose my dream responds to these thoughts and shows me something which i do not wish to know, does it turns out to be true or is my mind only projecting my fear?
If some negative thoughts come to my mind in the dream, can i command it to disappear from my life forever?
Sorry for this long post. Pls advice accordingly.
I don’t think you need to worry. Even if your mind manifests something unpleasant, you can always change it. It is not as if your subconscious knows when you are going to die. So there is no reason to be shocked if you dream about a mortal premonition. Instead of dreading what your mind has to show you, try to approach it with curiosity! There must be a reason why you are interested in dreams in the first place.
Dreams may be fickle things, but they do not respond to every fleeting thought. That does not mean you will not involuntarily conjure up something you didn’t want, especially if you obsess about it. However, dreams also tend to have a life of their own, and may not care what you are thinking about. You can’t really predict what is going to happen. So the best strategy is to decide how you will respond to unexpected things in general. That is to say, you should try to accept what is coming and welcome strange experiences and deal with them as they come. They make for good stories.
For example, I had a lucid dream in which a huge monster came out of the water ready to swallow me whole as I flew by. I recognized immediately that the coolest thing would be to just dive into its mouth and see what happens, and I was transported to another world. I think that illustrates the kind of attitude I am advising you to take.
My subconsciousness does exactly the same as you described and to start off it can be very scary. BUT, and a big but is that this can be prevented. You are probably looking at my lucid dream count and thinking this guy has no experience. I have had lucid dreams before hand but I am only recording lucid dreams now. Firstly half the time in lucid dreams this wont happen full stop. But when it does just follow these instructions below that i have wrote out just for you:
-
When the dream character appears from your bad thought or what ever your subconscious makes STAY CALM, remember it cant kill you in WL or even hurt you. No matter how scary it is.
-
You are in control of this lucid dream when you truly understand that this cant hurt you at all one of two things will happen.
- Your bad thought will just disappear and you wont even have to do anything this is easy and now you are ok.
- You might now just get a rush of adrenaline and you will kill or just tell it to go away. And even if this is reoccurring you can ask it questions like:
why do you chase me every night ? you are annoying and i want you to go away for ever! etc…
- you are now free to continue on with you lucid adventure were ever you may go!
have fun
Thank you rusty dreamer and krakatoa!!!
Yeah, i agree with you guys. That dream doesnt respond to each and every thought. Coz i have had normal dreams before wherein i had negative thoughts and it didnt make any difference. However, what i am asking, in general, is i am interested in programming my subconscious mind through lucid dreaming. Thats one of my key aims in LD. So, i am just asking to stop that chattering mind so that i cannot program any wrong affirmations in my mind.
Moreover, i wish to find a way to put an end to all the negative thoughts in waking life by powerfully programming the mind in a dream. One of the techniques that i envisage is that when negative thoughts appear in my dream in lucid dream, i command it to appear as a person, naturally, it has to be a scary being. Or, if i encounter any scary being in the dream, I ask what it represents. Then i ll visualise a white ball of light in my hands and command that creature to jump into it and command it to disappear along with that ball of white light. Then i ll say to myself, when i wake up, i am free from these thoughts. What do you think of my idea?
