It’s been sooo frustrating in the past few nights. I’ve had lots of lucid dreams. But, as soon as I become lucid, the dream is extremely blurry. So, I use the technique where you slowly open your eyes. Everything becomes clear as day, as if it were RL. But, although it’s clear, I have almost no control. My vision is on an angle, and I can barely feel my body. When I try to move it, my vision goes all over the place and my body doesn’t move the way I want it to. After countless attempts to gain control, I finally wake up.
So, how do I gain control and stablize the dream? Spinning and other techniques that involve movement do not work because my body control is all messed up. Help… please!!!
First, calm yourself down. Many people will tell you to shout something like “increase lucidity!” but i have found this to be difficult in some cases because, in general, if it is difficult to move, it is difficult to speak. Remind yourself in your head that you are dreaming. Instead of trying to move and look around, focus your attention on a single object or detail to really anchor your attention into the dream world, and try to rub your hands if possible. If rubbing your hands is too difficult, then rub the top of your mouth with your tongue. Do all these at the same time, and you should have some good results; not garunteed, but likely.
the dream does not need to stabilize, just be still and let it fluctuate , if you are in the right state you will be able to dream for a very long time ,
even if you wake up you can go back if you don’t move at all and remember where you were,
One thing I’ve noticed really doesn’t help is focusing one what you DON’T have (and of course I do this all the time… ) Example is a LD where I can hear and touch the walls but I can’t see. I spend my few minutes lucid trying to gain sight and I wake up. I think if I focus on the senses I do have (mainly, at least) that will help anchor myself in the dream. Then maybe wait for the sight to come on its own or just wait a while before trying any techs such as opening dream eyes.
You have to remember to breath. And breath at a calm even pace. Settle your breathing, settle the dream.
I have learned this from dealing with stress in waking life, and then learning to meditate. I used to get so stressed out from pressure and extreme anxiety in waking life and found that my thinking was messy and even my vision would go blurry in those times. Along with this, my breathing was unmeasured and fluctuating.
When I learned to remember my breathing and start taking calm, breaths…I would stabilize my breathing and therefore my thoughts and vision would start to stabilize too. This is the same thing in dreams.
