sometimes i get really strange hypnagogic images, like wierd monsters that dont exist. other times i get perfectly normal images, like having a conversation with a friend and they dont mix and match, like i will have a night with normal images, and only normal ones. same with the strange ones. can anyone explain this?
Hey INVRTDSA1NT.
I’m not sure about your question, but luckily you dont see weird monsters that do exist! …
Every night dude! Weird white dinosaur monsters pop out at me. Freaks me out when I’m halve way in the WILD.
Hi INVRTDSA1NT,
there is no relevant theory about HI, so nobody can tell you why you see this or that. Few years ago, I used to see skulls, now I see stacks of cubes…
I see big weird morphing splotches of green and yellow light, but no solid shapes. Maybe I’m not staying with it long enough though.
I wish I saw stuff as cool as you guys.
same here
That’s phosphenes and not HI. You have to be in a more sleepy state to see HI.
You can see easily very pretty and textured phosphens and HI when you practise WBTB.
i see clowns when im awake…?
LOL LOL LOL
Are you working in a circus ?
my “hypnagogic images” are like a cross between being in a planetarium and watching a firework display - with, if i’m very nearly asleep, a slight hint of falling from the sky into an odd landscape: sometimes a city, sometimes something from another planet. is there a way of actively controlling what you see?
yeah there definitely is, like saying “I’d like to see…”
etc… but it only works if you happen to be almost asleep in the hypnagogic states, and COMPLETELY focused, usually i’m so unfocused i lose consciousness and dont’ consciously perceive my imagery.
Me too.
I work for the government.
Before I researched more into lucid dreaming I never knew about the stages of sleep, save REM. I think around 13, 14 I realized that when I was on the verge of sleep, the mini-dreams that I’d frequently experience while still somewhat concious would be utterly ridiculous. One line or happening would trigger the fact that I was dreaming and would awaken completely only to say to myself “Oh good, I’m falling asleep.” As thoughts flew threw my mind, often two thoughts/facts would collide to produce a ridiculous phrase or an impossible cicumstance. The latest that I can recall is something about coins, and North pole, and the two clashed to produce me telling a guy about the fastest way for the coins to fly (through the air on their own, not by plane) to the north pole. I dunno if that helps but they’re strange to me.
