It is the only word I can describe for my tries at WILD. (Only typing this combination of the 4 letters “W”,“I”,“L”,“D” gets on my nerves)
Well, here is my problem, plain and simple: When I go to sleep and the slightest intention to WILD exists, I will simply never fall asleep. I am able to fully relax my body - that’s the only thing that works. After that, when I start counting, I may actually reach 3.500 (if counting 1 number per 3 secs that is 3hours) or even more. When I get tired, and say “ah, fuck it”, I fall asleep the next second. I have tried to trick my brain and have said “ah, fuck it” but continued WILDing, and that resulted in me not able to sleep the whole night…
Lately I tried BrainWave generator. Many people complain that when they reach the vibration time, they cant do anything after that. Well, HONEY, I am not able to reach that stage at all!! That Deep Mind IV thing relaxes me, but no vibrations. The best i did was to find out that my astral hands had moved place. However 4 hours after that, nothing happened…
3 times that I wilded in my life and felt these vibs were accidental. I had no intention to WILD. Whenever I have the intention to, sleep isnt a possibility anymore.
And I have been trying this for over a year…
So the question comes:
Is there a possibility that my brain simply can’t WILD ?
Although I never managed to really finish a WILD attempt (to enter a dream that is) I reached the state where I had hallucinations and SP set in several times… Counting was something that absolutely didn’t work for me either, I just can’t fall asleep while counting.
Just try something else if counting doesn’t work. What works for me is that I start imagining some scene in my head and then I just let my thoughts go on by themselves so to speak, while I try to just stay aware enough to ‘watch’ my thoughts, but without really thinking about what I’m doing there… Kinda hard to describe… But the more I start relaxing, the more I forget what’s happening around me and the more vivid my imagination gets until suddenly the hallucinations start.
I hope that helps a bit!
You do try this after you have already had some hours of sleep?? Cause it will rarely work in the evning, if you havent had any sleep first. This is due to the fact that we dont enter REM in the beginning of sleep, so it is best to attempt it after atleast 3 hours of sleep. The early morning works best for me…
I honestly dont think bwgen does more than a placebo… It for sure never did anything at all for me.
Ah…WILD. What an experience. Believe me, WILDing is the hardest of all LDing techniques for some, and the easiest for others.
You may be trying too hard. Why don’t you try for a DILD? I remember when I was trying to WILD, my first LD ended up being a DILD. The irony was NOT lost on me. Just keep at it It could be the wrong LD technique for you, you never know. Continuously do reality checks and keep trying to WILD.
The harder you think it is then the harder it will become.
Personally I am not a big fan of the counting method. I think it keeps my mind too awake to WILD. I prefer to use the falling method, spinning method and the HI method.
What I do(short version) is place myself into a trance using progressive relaxation or self-hypnosis. Once deeply relaxed I just imagine my self floating down. As I descend I let go of everything else and just focus on the falling. From there “it” just happens.
Anyway don’t be so hard on yourself it takes practice, but if you stay with it you will succeed.
Thus your brain can WILD. What had to be demonstrated.
But I think the difficulties some people experience with WILD are due to brain chemistry. I think that people with higher melatonin rate have more often “vibes”, SP, and can WILD more easily.
The problem I find is that people attempt to do WILD without properly relaxing. I would say that it is best to intend to fall asleep. Each time you fail to achieve WILD is a success in the direction of achieving WILD.
I have never achieved WILD, even though I have tried many times. I have managed to get the the hallucinations stage and it took many tries.
WILD requires determination, but it also requires a lot of patients. Unlike other dreaming techiques, this method isn’t just learning to drive a car. It is more like trying to learn to fly a plane.
Be patient and optomistic, and you will achieve WILD
That gave me an idea… Isn’t it so that when you take Melatonin, it’s processed into your brain? If that’s true, try taking Melatonin, Alex C. It may just kill your problem.
Everybody falls asleep differently. Through my experimentation I’ve found that you really have to become focused on your personal sleeping routine to increase your chances of an LD.
Experiment to try - have someone wake you right after you fall asleep, then try to remember how you felt when falling asleep, it’s just like dream recall with practice you can begin to understand your pattern for falling asleep.
Ever notice that when going to sleep you have a specific position you need to be in to get to sleep. Try going to sleep laying on your back, it’s much harder if that’s not your natural sleeping position.
Falling asleep is a important part of learning to LD, you could end up torturing yourself for hours not giving due attention to this skill.
