I was finally able to to stop myself from drifting off by adding numers (1+1=2, 2+2=4, 4+4=8 etc.) but after a while, when i was thinking “oh this is awesome, im going to succeed in WILD”, i started feeling like i was suffocating, i felt like i HAD to move or i would explode. Any idea what that was?
Yeah, um… I’m not real sure how self-hypnosis works… What you’re saying kind of sounds like subliminal messages… or… something.
I suggest you make your own thread. Plz dun steel mine.
Well, I thought I’d tell how I got into my first SP.
Instead of counting my breaths or something like that, I was daydreaming. I noticed it’s easy to drift off into your thoughts, and then come back again, and notice like you are floating for example.
I had relaxed like 15 minutes and my body had gone numb, I thought of counting, but I decided to just think of things, fantasies and such, and suddenly SP started.
I couldn’t keep at the SP, although I was aware of it. It was like 5 to 10 seconds in my hand but then it went away.
I have tried counting, counting my breaths, counting stairs and steps, counting and counting, but none of my attempts have successed like the daydream one. I simply stay too much aware. I think you have to kinda like fall asleep, but being aware that you fall asleep.
Counting is so boring that you get bored to death, and you stay too much awake. That’s at least for me.
Oh, and for your HI stage, have you tried to just let them be for a while, not really paying attention? Like 10 seconds just let them be?
I don’t know but maybe if you kinda let them be, your brain thinks you’re sleeping and won’t stop the HI process. Then after a while you could start concrentating on them and you could enter a dream?
Don’t know if it works, but you could at least try.
- Just thought I’d share my experience.
@ Queen SD: I have heard similiar experiences, and I think that the suffocating goes away after a while. Not too sure though.
Heh sorry, i had no intention of “stealing” your beloved thread.
I was just sharing an experience, giving you a method that worked for me. Plus you may come across simular situations in the future so i suggest you pay attention to other people’s experiences as well, so you know what to do when the time comes
I do pay attention to other people’s experiences. I spend hours reading up on this forum (even though I seldom reply) and other places on the internet…
I HAVE been LD ing for five years.
I don’t think I mentioned this on the first post, and I apologize…
but I’ve never, EVER experienced HI. Just HH… No images, just things like loud footsteps and feeling non-existent things against my skin.
OK. So I’ve given up on WILD until the summer comes. -___-;
WBTB is the best… but even a deliberate combo of WILD + WBTB keeps me awake until the sun rises and I can’t fall back to sleep.
So… yeeaaahhh…
THX FOR TEH HELPS, U GUYS!! MWAH! <3 <3 <3
Who needs WILD? Honestly, I’ve forgotten about all LD induction techniques, other than RCing and having spontaneous DILDs. A combination of meditation, DJing, RCing and autosuggestion was the recipe for me, and wham! Several LDs a week.
Back in my day we didn’t have all these fancy WILD and MILD techniques! You crazy kids!
All I’m really concerned with is increasing the intensity of my dreams…
I have no problem inducing LD s I think that’s what people miss whenever they read this thread.
