i can remember my dreams every night but I can’t stay lucid i’m still aware that i’m not dreaming i keep a dream diary to but i still can’t stay lucid
Sounds like a normal “learning curve”. It’s good that you’ve managed to remember dreams every night; just try to continue writing your dreams down every time you wake up. It’s likely that the first lucid dreams you have will only last a short time and then you slip back into a ND or wake up; staying lucid takes practice. Now I’ve been commited to lucid dreaming for a month continuously (not trying to induce LDs every night, but keeping a DJ and doing RCs many times a day), and last night I had my fifth LD this period. It was the first time I could keep up the lucidity for more than five minutes.
You should also try the techniques at the ‘staying lucid’ section of the LD4all site. In my LD last night I noticed the dream scene getting blurry, so I spinned around for a while, and that let me stay lucid for longer. I think you should also try to avoid doing things that involve high excitement in your LDs (like dream sex) until you get more practice. As of now, I’ve always woken up when I have tried to have sex, but flying and exploring are easier.
I hope my tips are useful, and I wish you happy LDing.
By ‘stay lucid’ do you mean you were lucid in the dream for short while and then lucid it/woke up?
Or do you mean that you have not yet become lucid in any of the dreams you remember?
i have not become lucid in any of the dreams i can remember
How long have you been trying?
If you wish, you could try a different technique (athough I wouldn’t give up on your current one if you’ve been trying for less than three weeks).
If you aren’t using a technique (I’m talking about MILD, WILD etc here) then I would highly advise you using one. They are pretty much the backbone of LD’ing.
Also, if you don’t already:
- Try using WBTB in conjunction with MILD/WILD/whatever
- Take RC’s throughout the day (two or three different RC’s will do)
- Pick a couple of DS to help you out
i’ve been trying it for a couple of days this is my first week
