The weirdest thing happened to me 2 days ago. The day before that day i couldnt sleep until 2 or 3 am and then when i woke up i went to Soak City (a theme park) with my friends. Then after i went there it was dark and i tried to sleep at 1:00 but when i close my eyes, like after a couple of seconds i started dreaming or drifting into a dream i saw people but it wasnt clear but i could hear them pretty well. Then i woke up, and i closed my eyes again and started drifting into a dream just a few seconds after. I kept on waking up and i started getting nervous and anxious. I started to panic and asked what is happening to me?
Then i finally fell asleep, and i had a false awakening. I thought i woke up but i didnt it was still a dream and then i really woke up.
But after that false awakening, im starting to wonder if this is a dream or not? And this feeling is making me really panicky and nervous because i can’t distinguish from a dream and from reality.
whenever this happens you just need to calm down, not panic and do a reality check
im just going to assume that you do not know what an RC is by the way you described this. A reality check is where you are asking the question “am i dreaming?” and trying to verify it by doing a series of checks. like in tv shows where they say "pinch me i think im dreaming, you can check much the same way.
The most trusted one is plugging your nose and seeing if you can breathe through it, if you can your dreaming! if not then you know your not. Alot of people including me like to do multiple RCs because they have been known to fail from time to time. So the one i usually follow it up with is, looking at my hands. The majority of times in dreams your mind cannot fully recreate what your hands really look like, so youll see them with more fingers, less fingers, or sometimes as a completely different object. Ive seen my hands as trees and as puppets before.
the more RCs you do at a time, the less chance you have of messing up and missing a chance to become lucid.
