The whole point of MILD is your intention, you must be sure that you will have a lucid dream.Several times i was 100% sure i’d have a lucid dreams but i didn’t.
I tried WILD too but nothing happens.pictures just won’t form.i tried the relaxation exercise.I guess i just can’t have lucid dreams anymore .
help!
Hey dont give up, if you can dream then you can have lucid dreams, it just takes time and practice.
What ive been having good success with lately is WBTB with MILD. When you sleep for about 4.5 or 6 hours then stay awake for about an hour or so, then go back to sleep doing MILD, you will have much more REM period than you did at the start of the night and a better chance of having a lucid dream.
Also make sure you practice doing reality checks during waking hours and make a dream diary and read all your dreams looking for dreamsigns.
If you keep at it they will happen
I know.i wont give up.
i used to have few LD’s before.
so i guess i’ll have to wake at night again.
i actually doing it pretty well without the alarm
Um … I have a different idea …
Don’t try LDing for a while , trying too hard might keep lucidity away …
Atleast thats my experience and that of a number of people beside me …
Just some thoughts
I agree with the previous posters
But for me, MILD works a little bit tdifferent, I think. It’s not being 100% you WILL have a LD, but a bit more like 100% sure you WANT to have a LD. For me it’s more a matter of intent instead of faith. Know what I mean?
Anyway, try not to get to frustrated, I think that can really help you stay without LD longer…
Good luck!
thanks, but u know…
2 days ago i played table tennis with two other cousins.
and they were owning me.
then i said:’‘enough of this!now i’m gonna won!’’
i WAS CONVINCED i will win.and i did.both of them.
but i’ll try 100% WANTING, as you suggested.
Just give up for awhile. I gave up months ago and I suddenly had 7 LDs in one nap today.
Yeah, you can try to take a break too. maybe you’re trying to hard
But it can be tricky, even when you’re 100% convinced, your SC might not be getting that message clearly. A part of you might still be doubting yourself or something.
What I found useful for me during my last dryspell was to try and truely beleive I would have a LD. BUT that’s not all. I had to truelly not be frustrated when it didn’t work. I believe the SC works better with emotions. So when you go to bed and tell yourself you’ll LD and truely believe it… well, it can work, of course. But when you wake up after not getting lucid and get frustrated… that strong emotion goes straight to the SC and tells it “crap, I did not have LD” (“did NOT”)… and the SC can kinda interpret that as “hm, ok. ‘not ld’ means no ld, ok! will do!” and you keep sinking further down in your dryspell.
It’s not that easy but it is at the same time to not get frustrated. focus on good things (almost getting lucid, a cool normal dream, a bit of SP or whatever…)
Not sure if all this makes sense, but it might be something to think about
None of those WILD, MILD techniques work for me, personally.
All of my LDs have been self-induced, I guess you could call it.
It happens when in a dream I do an RC and realize I’m dreaming. It seems pretty random, but it happens. Just do a lot of RCs during the day and you should be set for a lucid dream in the future. Good luck!
P.S. Not in anyway am I telling you to give up WILD, MILD or any other LD- inducing technique, if you think you can do it, Go for it!
@mattias: no, i dont think i’m frustrated because of that.i kinda just think ‘ah!i wasn’t lucid.maybe i’ll be tomorrow.’
and are you sure about that SC interpretation.never heard about it before.
@Winter Depths:yeah, my first lucid dream was self-induced.
and yes, i started doing RC’s
Oh, ok.
Not sure about the interpretation… but I think if you were to get frustrated nd focus on not having a LD that would help keep you not having LD’s. I used to think “oh no, I haven’t had a LD in X days”, for example.
Maybe try to take a break then. Do you do techniques every single night? I do and forgot the other night and had a LD
no, not every night.
sometimes i try WILD but nothing happens.then i usually MILD.
sometimes i just have the intention to have a lucid dream, but don’t do any techniques.
sometimes i say ‘i am gonna do it later!’ then i fall asleep before i even try it
Yeah, sometimes it’s good to take a break.
When i first started out, I tried everything, but I was impatient, so I decided to take a “break” (More like give-up) but like 3 night later I had my first LD, and after that I decided not to give up.
Anyways, what I’m trying to say is your LD could come when your not even trying.
I know, i had my first LD that way, too.
i thought ‘ah, i’m gonna take a break for few days…’ then i had one few days later.
