Last night i went lucid inside my dream, and for what i experienced, the lucid dream i had last night was much more stabil and long than the normal lucid dreams, and i wasn’t at all anxious. Usually, when i went lucid, i would get excited easily and a bit anxious, i’d do things in a rush because of that (that’s why they never last long enough).
But last night was different. While i knew was dreaming (inside a dream of course, which i didn’t know), i could relax, did a lot of things and just be amazed by the clarity of my visual dream.
So here’s the Qs :
For those of you who have experienced the same thing (being lucid inside a dream), did you feel like it lasted longer and more stabil than your usual lucid dreams? If the answer is yes, then…
Why? do you have any idea?
If the answer is no, then… maybe i just didn’t go fully lucid (i honestly don’t know if i was being fully lucid or not), so things got easier for me to regulate my emotion and therefore making the dream went more smoothly and longer. Idk though, hope to get some insight from you guys!
Unlike moogle (who has surprised me with the fact that the majority of her lucids have come from waking based techniques), most of my lucids have come from the dream itself. MILDs, DILDs, etc, about 70-90% of my LDs have been passively obtained.
My first lucid was EXTREMELY short, ending in a matter of seconds due to excitement. Overtime, the dreams got longer and longer to the point that I’ve seen some interesting developments regarding excitability in my LDs. Particularly, I occasionally get super excited LDs… and I occasionally get really mellow and relaxed LDs. To me, it sort of seems that having more LDs brings more LDs and a calmer attitude.
So, to answer your questions… it depends for me. Sometimes my dreams last a few minutes, sometimes they end quickly. It all seems to be very situational. I would say that since I’ve had some experience in LDs I’ve been more “calm and excited” at the same time allowing the dream to go on for a bit before I awaken. That being said, my longest LD still belongs, I believe, to one of my earlier LDs.
The vast majority of my LDs have been DILDs, and they vary in stability depending on what I attempt to change. At first the whole “I’m dreaming!” excitement made me wake up. Now I know to take a short while to calm myself and wait for the dream to stabilize.
Mostly if I just go with the current dream / plot it is generally quite stable and I can choose where to go and what to say. If I stick to powers that I’ve used before - flying, phasing, telekinesis, then I can keep the dream extremely vivid and stable for a long time.
When I attempt a new power or experience any doubts, that is normally when I lose stability. Belief is key.
